Bored. Decided to blog. Hmm.. where to start.
Started playing Metroid: other M, since Arc Rise Fantasia got retardedly difficult and I need to build up some courage to go play it again.
I've gotta say, Other M is a hell of a lot better then I ever thought it would be. So far, the fact that it has a story is pretty cool. Learning that Samus isn't just some random chick in a sweet suit was a good decision for the game.
The controls are kind of quirky though...but hell, i'll live with it. The difficulty isn't ballbustingly hard, but it doesn't have me totally bored. So that's cool.
Did a LOT of yardwork earlier. Simple shit at first, raking a bunch of these annoying fruits a tree in my yard bears. They're a pretty amazing tasting hybrid-fruit, but they smell absolutely terrible when they rot. (by hybrid-fruit, I mean two trees merged and created whatever the hell is in my back yard, it's weird).
My Dad decided to start cutting down some branches, since the tree was getting a little...big.
As we did this, we forgot one major thing....the tree has wood spikes all over it. Making gloves a must. It was fine at first, just cutting down, and moving small branches into a pile. But eventually we cut a bigger branch down. It came down fine, but my Dad wanted to cut it again so it would stack better. We don't have a chainsaw by the way, so he was using a reciprocating saw....which vibrates the branch like mad when cutting through it. He asked me to hold it to try stabilize it to make it easy to cut. He started cutting before I grabbed it, and he's rather impatient so I just quickly grabbed it, but I guess I grabbed a small spike, it didn't hurt at first, but once the vibrating stopped I felt a very sharp pain in my hand. had a huge cut just below my index finger.
So that hurt. But I just ignored it since I was too lazy to go grab a bandaid. Cut some more small branches, piled it all.
Then my Dad went to cut a larger branch again... This time my dog had gotten curious about what we were doing, and wandered about sniffing below the tree right before the branch fell -_-
As I go to shoo him, the branch falls, so i quickly grab it, and get sporked by two spikes. (one near the top of my middle finger, ripped out a chunk of skin, and the other just minorly stabbed my thumb).
Finally realized it was about damn time to go get some gloves >_>;;
Along with a few other random scratches, my left hand is looking like shit, haha.
Minecraft constantly crashes for me lately. I am not amused
I just started playing the FFXIV beta today.
I really, REALLY wish I hadn't. The game is really bad. The tutorial was pretty cool, it sorta played out a bit of a story to do it (excluding a severe lack of guidance for where to go). But everything seems to have been dumbed down to a consoles level. Menus are clunky as fuck and hard to navigate with a mouse/keyboard. Combat is somewhat interesting, but i'm really not a huge fan of putting an action-bar style system into things...it just feels weird.
It scores major points for having victory fanfare play when you complete a quest, as well as giving you the ability to distribute attribute points and elemental resistance points.
But the clunky feel of...everything is atrocious enough to keep me away from the game once it starts costing me cash moneys.
No one has been on AIM lately. Leaving me thoroughly bored with no one to talk to. Probably because most of my AIM friends started school recently.
I guess I shouldn't say 'no one to talk to'. I've been getting a ton of counseling sessions scheduled lately and it's eating up a lot of my spare time. Good ol' back to school stress.

Just went to get an apple and found most of the remaining 10 or so are bruised.
I think someone beat someone else with my sack of apples. Wtf.
