So the PS4 conference aired yesterday...and I'm excited!
Hardware is solid for a console with the 8GB of GDDR5 being rather surprising. The controller is nice but I wish they used the Vita's connected D-Pad. I question the need for a touchpad but that doesn't bother me too much. No complaints there.
The social features, yada yada. I couldn't care less. Only semi-social functionality that's kind of interesting to me in the console realm is Miiverse (only because of the drawings) but otherwise, being able to post a status to Facebook or whatever doesn't matter to me.
Now on-to the games. Goddamn. Next-gen is here.
(although ^that's supposedly CGI and not in-game)
I think this gen will reach the apex of visuals for me. If games look like what we've seen on a consistent basis, I have no complaints. I'm perfectly okay with this.
Only deciding factor over whether I get a PS4 is the price. Just don't pull a $599, Sony.
