Poor Little 3D Fox

Well, I got to use a 3d printer for the first time and I'm quite excited what can be achieved with this machine.
I should finally get around to learning some 3d modelling, but blender is overwhelming me with it's feature overload, it may take a while...

I thought I'd share my very first attempt.

The fox model isn't mine, it's an animated model made for use in a game engine:

Since I already had the model I was curious if I could print it and this is what happened:

Looks like I accidentally 3d printed a monster.

The poor thing...

A friend of mine who knows blender in and out helped me out and made the little fellow printer compatible.

Now he watches over my working desk.

True happiness at last. ^_^

I'm super excited, I could print custom buttons for my consoles or a table stand for my Switch...
The possibilities are near endless.

I'll update this when I get around to printing something useful.

@alexander1970
:blush: I'm quite ashamed of it, honestly. I had no idea what would happen if I throw an unreal engine model into the printing software.

But foxi is alive and well at last, so it's all good now.

@eyeliner
It's an Ultimaker 3 Extended. They recently got it at my workplace. I couldn't dream of affording something like that but there are much cheaper models available for private use.

I'm just super happy they let me use the printer for personal projects.

Not yet. Haven't done any printing recently, but I'll get back to it.
I guess the next thing I'll be printing are new buttons for my DSi.

I did print this "thing", however:

I friend wanted that, don't ask me. ;-)
Also, I broke off the ears. I was testing the durablility of the material, hihi.

Um, I accidentally broke one of the ears. Then I removed the second one as well and now this ugly thing sits on my working desk.

I was going to throw it away, but then I decided to keep it for some reason. ;-)
