it's been almost a year since i stopped playing RFO Ph, my favorite MMORPG. just logged in yesterday and i kinda wanted to play hardcore again, but that means 7-10+ hours a day.
It's a good MMO because i like the plot that 3 races are always at war. which means PvP 24/7, but not good if you're the one being PK'ed. Raids and Repels are common words in RF, Raiding is, well, raiding the enemy's PL and farming spots. sometimes Raiding is also called CPt farming, because you get Contribution Points and PvP points when you kill an opposing race. Contribution Points is the basis of ranking players and PvP points are used to buy special items. However you lose CPt for not being online for 30 days, when i logged in yesterday i lost a 2 days worth of CPt farming, fortunately i didn't have to much CPt to lose.
there are also Chip Wars 3x a day to determine who controls the Crag Core for several hours, the crag mine is where you mine for upgrade materials, in the crag core you can mine an ore every 3 seconds i think, i can't remember. you can mine outside the crag core but it's one ore per minute i think.
the Chip war is a 3 way battle, the is to destroy another race's control chip first, the one who get's the last hit on a control chip will be a Chip Bearer, his role is to deliver the chip to the crag core for extended hours to control the crag core, and gets to have a green glow above his head until the next chip war. after the control chip is destroyed the battle will now proceed from 3 control chips, to the crag core. the new goal here is:
For the winning race-to defend the chip bearer until he safely delivers the control chip to the crag core, and defend the Halostone Keeper because the HSK is vulnerable for 10 minutes after he shows up. if the HSK dies, those who are mining in the crag core will be vulnerable to other races if there won't be repelers present in the core. and the race buff Heroes Roar won't be applied -it increases attack and defense.
For the losing race(the race who got their control chip destroyed)- kill the chip bearer, and the HSK mainly because of the painful effects of the rase buff Scar of Defeat, reduces attack and defense.
For the failing race(the race who didn't destroy the control chip and it's not their control chip destroyed)- this side is actually neutral and may side with the winning race to defend the core or side with the losing race and kill the HSK. however they still get the race buff Stigma of Disgrace- also reduces attack and defense but not as much as Scar of Defeat.
for having the same race buff after the war, the race buff can level up up to 3, which will really have an effect on a race's attack and defense. also there are weapons we call nukes, which can only be bought and used by select member of the race council and archon. this nuke, when it hits, kills anyone instantly and halves your stats after you respawn until some time. fortunately, nuclear cure pots are now considered cheap and can be easily bought and nukes isn't always available for it takes too long to restock.

i chose to be a Bellato cause i get to ride the Massive Armored Unit or MAU. but i can still fight as a swordsman and ranger with very limited skills. also their armors are kinda futuristic looking and they're cute compared to the bulky metal-body Accretians but Corites are matured and sexy but their armors are medieval looking. also Accretians have a motto "flesh is weak". bells are allso the smallest amongst the 3 races.
I have 3 characters, one is a Sabotuer, another is an Archmage and an Armor Driver.
Saboteur - a ranger who has the hide skill, can use either a gun or a bow, moves faster than other class(depends on mage's buffs and because of the ranger armors having move speed improvement), is known for their imba dodge(depends on some items), and can use traps. imagine goblin techies having hide skill, an agi and has dodge. rangers have the least defense an armor gives. but their dodge makes up to it and their armors also has elemental resistance. mostly just hides and plants traps, can only plants 15 of them, but if your trap's level is the same as the enemy, even a tanker would die if he steps on 2 or 3 of them.
Arch Mage - archmages have a lot of skills their only difference from a soul chandra is the soul chandras class skills are defensive but the arch mage's class skills boost force skill damage. mostly great for farming, has debuffs and also a good nuke since their armors increases their hp/sp and force damage.
Armor Driver - being a specialist, he can also craft items. specialist have the ability to use up to elite melee and range skills, all class skills are passive. can also max out all pt giving them a chance to wear all armors and weapons. but mostly they only wear melee armors to defend themselves on foot, because they don't have the same damage as a warrior and has less skill than a ranger.
however, when mounted in a MAU, things change. there are two kinds of MAU's, catapult and goliath, catapult is the ranged mau, can dish out great damage, mostly used for breaking chips and boss hunts, but rangers in RF have low defense, maus are no exception, that's why they need a tanker with them. goliaths are the melee ones, although they don't have much firepower with them, they have 300k hp(afaik, a tanker can have up to 20+k hp), and a high defense.
however maus don't have the ability to heal itself and needs to be repaired at the mau merchant, and it don't cost cheap. they also don't have skills. they're not much fun unless they're in numbers. a rider can have up to 4 keys which can summon a mau. when a mau loses all it's hp, it explodes(which is fun to watch for other races) and you die as well.
blue mau(catapult)
some red maus with blue arms and 2 gold maus al catapult doing boss hunt with some other characters
gold mau goliath
the players who have the special aura are the archon and his council
