I suck at soccer...

So I was forced to take soccer intramural at my school (I go to a military college) and I suck at it... Every game I feel like I let my fellas down so much. I usually play basketball, but this is just not my sport. Any soccer players in GBAtemp that can help me?

I'm not good at soccer but I know that the only way your gonna get good is by playing more and getting some confidence.
If your playing and you feel like the decision your making is not the best theres something wrong.Believe in your abilities and think that your decision was the best decision.

Lol, it wasn't my decision, I go to a military school, we HAVE to play a sport every semester. All the good ones were taken...

[badpun]You suck at soccer?[/badpun]

The best thing you could do is train and try hard until you get good.
That's how it works for basically everything.

If you're bad and not afraid of the ball, be goalie.
Easiest position ever. The other positions are a lot more technique extensive.

Play defense, don't try to be a forward as that isn't a position for a beginner.
Defense seems to be the easiest to pick up, and play with you have a set goal: don't let anyone get past you, or take a shot at the goal.
Watch some soccer games on tv and see what they do right, and what they do wrong.

No surprise there.

Maybe it is not for you or you can just practice, practice and practice. You can watch the soccer television and look at their movement. That's only way to improvement yourself. I do that when I learn to be gymnast and I look at men gymnastics on television. It really helped me a lot. :)

Yeah, this thing came as a surprise for me. I have one more game tommrow before I get a chance to practice on my own this weekend. I think I will try out some drills like dribling. I can only play defence as the goalie is currently the best one we have in the comapny. Last game I found that it is really difficult to challange the forwards as they are the best on the team. I also had a difficult time recieving passes and dribbling. I HAVE to practice those things this weekend, because if I keep this up, my teammates will kick my ass, lol.

1. Win ball
2. Quickly pass the ball to someone better

Just focus on the simple things.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
