YAY! finished P3P

i'm not sure if i'd already spent 118 hours into a single game. but playing p3p felt too long for me...
maybe it was because of the interruptions.

jin, takaya and nyx was easy to beat with me lvl 85 and the others 76-78...nyx was just...i was a bit annoyed by how long it takes for me to kill him...i'm just repeating the cycle of casting stuff...it was a bit tedious.

i didn't get all the social links...especially aigis and mitsuru's. so i'm replaying this.
it was still january, i thought i can still play through march, but it jumped to march 3 after the battle with nyx. i didn't get any warning. i also didn't go through the silver door.

i have one question though...
i was playing the undub version so i didn't get what someone(i'm assuming aigis since she was beside me) said before the credits.

Playing P4 undub and the VA's are fantastic.

Undub is better because VA's don't get in the way if you just want to read instead of listen whereas with dubs, you'll read halfway then just stop and listen because someone keeps reading over you.

Undub ftw
Dub ftw.

If I watched the first seconds of this in Japanese, I wouldn't be bothered with it but because the VA's did such an awesome job, it made me want to play the shit out of this game.

This game in Japanese wouldn't be as funny.

I say it depends on the game, like Rune Factory 1 and 2, they have some pretty awful dubs. Rune Factory 3, however, has a pretty good dub.

Didn't even know what Nier was until I watched that intro lol.
Is the story above average considering it's an RPG?(Not sure if it is or just straight action adventure)

Good points. IMO, more often than not, if a game is made in Japan/China, the best VA will be undub. Same goes for NA VA's localized to Japan.
and also, idk why, but for me japanese and korean are nice to hear.
This. As long as it's not high pitched.
It's not that you have to completely understand it to know if the voice acting is good. The emphasis and VA in accordance to their actions gets the message across and does a great job doing so. Nothing beats original voice acting 99% of the time considering all the information, background, setting etc given.
that is if you are looking for the original setting and understand it, but there are times where some things need to be changed in order to fit in with the target audience. for example, not all filipinos will like how japanese people speak.
i can say this because i grew up watching anime dubbed in filipino. clannad including. but still, clannad was still epic. and i know some people who prefer the dub since they understand it more, not the words meant but the way it was delivered.

Edit: There's tons of reading, just so you know. Literally, parts of the game is just a black screen with text which adds to the experience. ;)

There's also a prequel which I didn't even know about until I finished the game.

Edit2: It's late, errors everywhere. Fuck off Internet.

There's a prequel to Nier? :0

*Downloads*

There's even a sequel to the prequel...wait what.

I really need to get around to playing Nier. I bought a while ago but I just don't have the time to play.

lmfao. Good to know. Planned on putting the PS2 away after P4 lol. I'll probably end up playing Nier first considering D2->D3 isn't a direct sequel like D1->D2 is?.
Will probably go at it after LOZ:SS :) Thanks

True. First thing that came to mind with that comment was baccano. Still finishing it but yea. Clannad I still have to see keep hearing great things about it.

Thats because those guide are for Persona 3 on PS2. Persona 3 FES is the one coresponding to the P3P, and even so the P3P has parts which is not the same as FES.

Most dubs these days are great, especially for videogames.
Some games...eh. But most, fantastic. Unless you speak Japanese, then dub > sub. There's absolutely no point to listening to a language you don't understand when you could be listening to one you DO understand, spoken competently.

Its a major weeaboo sign to reject your native language like that.

I don't see what's wrong with preference. Personally I prefer the French Pokemon openings to the English. Personally I prefer Spanish music to American/English. It's all about preference, there's nothing weeaboo about it unless one only does it because it's in Japanese and nothing else.
Messiah requires fusing Orpheus and Thanatos, which means you'll need to have maxed out the Death Social Link. Additionally, you'll need to be above level 90.

When I fought Nyx, I used a combination of Persona, but the only Ultimate one I had was Melchizedek
, who's not exactly the strongest Ultimate Persona.

As for filling out the Compendium - I'd use the various calculators available online. Fusion takes persona level into consideration, so even if you're following a guide, if you're not using the same levels, there's a chance you won't get the same resulting Persona.
When I fought her, my team was abysmally screwy. I don't remember exactly what I had, but it took me 4 tries to beat her.

And even then, it was only me and one other person left standing when I defeated her.

The weird part was that I didn't even have any other problems with the team I had with other bosses, and half of her forms didn't bother me...until I got to the later parts, and saw how screwy it all was.

well, what i did was akihiko for debuffs aigis for buffs me for healing, debuffs and mesomethingkarn and tetrakarn. mitsuru's the only one who really hits. i need to play defensive or else i'll be wiped out immediately with two megidolaons. also, good thing i did stock up several homonculus.

lol, that's too many....i just screwed up once, when i got confident and didn't cast matarunda on the enemy and the defensekaja on my team.

about the weaboo:
A non japanese person who basically denounces their own culture and calls themselves japanese. They try to learn japanese through the anime they watch and usually end up pronouncing it wrong and looking like a complete idiot.

KEEP IN MIND: that a non-japanese person can like the culture, watch anime, speak the language and RESPECT THE CULTURE, while still keeping in touch with there own. Which keeps them from being a Weeaboo, japanophile, ect.
just got this somewhere around the net, not my words but describe what i think about this weaboo stuff.

How silly. Do you know what weaboo even means? Who's rejecting anything? The setting/Characters/ the whole game revolves around Japanese settings/culture. Why would I not play undub and not get the best experience out of it? Do you watch english movies in another language? No? What's the difference exactly? When you can still get the emotion out of characters speaking a language you don't even understand, why would you even consider playing it in a language it wasn't meant for?

If I appreciate the work of VA's, I'm going to take the time to listen to them.
-I don't have time to let the VA's read endless dialogue.
-Undub, VA's skim through the text like it's nothing. Never interferes.

When games made in their country especially in their settings provide VA's AND subtitles, it's a no brainer to go with undub.
