Why Sharing a Computer Sucks

Last night, I installed Firefox 6.0. I didn't bother restarting the browser at that point and decided to leave it until I got on today. Well, sometime between then and when I got online today, something was severely fucked up with FF's settings. It's homepage was MSN for some terrible reason, it kept trying to search through bing every time I got about four letters of a URL in, and there was some "Smart Deals" button or some shit next to the small search bar (you know, next to the address bar). I was trying my hardest to figure out how this shit storm happened and after about 45 minutes of trying to fix it, I just gave up and uninstalled Firefox (completely, 100%) and reinstalled it. Thankfully, the problems are gone now, and the addons that I use are back as well as one I meant to get ages ago but was too lazy to.

I'm baffled as to how this happened though. Like I said, it was all fine before I go to sleep, I wake up, and bam, shit's fucked up. All I can figure is that my Aunt did something, since she is the only one with the ability to use this computer besides me that lives here (well, my sister does too, but ever since I set up wifi, she has just used her laptop). It was pretty frustrating having to fix all of that bullshit, but at least it's good to go again.

Oh, and to add on to the wonderful news of of today so far: about four minutes into my shower, the water went cold. By one in the afternoon, the hot water was already pretty much gone. That pissed me off.

tl;dr - Today sucks so far.

The browser was fucked. It certainly wasn't a small problem. The cold shower didn't help, at all. It was just a very shitty first hour or so of my day.

B'awwww.

lol you think thats bad me and my brother bought a computer when we were little i was 6 he was 9 and for like 7 days later he put a fing virus that was unfix able with any other means other then replacing the hard drive in which my dad didn't want to buy because he knew that it was going to happen again because my brother was going to download all of the things he had and was bound to do it again so thats was 55$ down the drain. all i did was play pinball like 4 times because my bro was on it 24/7

Oh man, this day just refuses to go even remotely correctly.

Went to open a bank account because my parents fucked up and now Netflix is pretty much useless until new bank account info is hooked up. I don't have State ID though, so I can't open an account. To top it off, State ID is apparently not cheap, the only money I have is suspended in the limbo of PayPal, and apparently they want official mail or some shit, of which I have none at 17. $80 is out of reach, can't use Netflix now, can't open a checking account to move my money, and I can't afford a State ID without that cash in my PayPal.

to fix those ff problems just uninstall, google FF portable, and hide it somewhere where its hard to find, and use it when you need to

and for a state ID, if you have a school id from the state, that works too usually

Yeah, sharing a computer sucks. Today I was playing some music at full blast and then went into the shower. Thinking that if someone will be using my computer they'll log out, turn down/off the music I left it playing the whole library on random. I had Panty & Stocking OST in my library and it has some nasty porno music. My dad used my computer while I was showering without bothering to log out or turn off the music. When I came out of the shower to my room one of those songs started playing, AT FULL BLAST! It was awkward as hell...

I'll highly consider Firefox portable. I've started to really like portable programs since I started using this computer.

Edit: Holy mother of typos I'm getting bad.

That sucks, sure, but look on the bright side; it can always get worse. Well, that's not much of a bright side, but...

I have three computers to myself in my room...
I can't relate to this at all.

Homepage, I fixed, though it kept complaining that some outside source was trying to change it. I could not disable the auto address bar search. I would get three letters in, quickly, and before I could type out ".com" or ".net," it would be trying to search through Bing. I disabled everything in the configuration settings that had to do with anything Bing, and it still kept doing it. There was also a button next to the small search bar that I could not remove. I spent 45 minutes trying to remedy it without having to reinstall the browser.

Three? That sounds like a pretty nice setup.

Honestly, it only took at most, five minutes to get Firefox uninstalled, reinstalled, and with my basic addons back. It was easier than screwing around on Google for any longer then I already had.

it is, if you don't know what you're looking for.
but i like to know what exactly happened, not knowing what happened sometimes bugs me. :D

but it's fixed now so everything's good.
