I feel sorry for my cousin

I've heard about a month ago that my cousin, when he was a little kid, his mother took all of his pokemon cards and posters and threw them in the trash because the original name was called Pocket Monsters, and it somehow was bad for their religion.


I feel sorry for him, I feel like they hurt him a lot by doing that.

If I'm thinking right, he's Catholic. I don't really remember as I hate the church his parents run. Telling people that Harry Potter books are bad, I almost stood up and said "IT"S FICTION!"

If He was Christian, it's perfectly normal for his mom to do that.Alot of Christian kids are taught to stay away from anything Pokemon, because apparently it was "created by the devil"

Darn, I'm also Catholic and I own Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh/Bakugan cards?! What's up with that?

And Pokemon were created by Nintendo/Gamefreak. :P

Whether it is Pokemon or Yugioh or Digimon or whatever, that's a common case in a religious family.
I'm lucky that my parents really don't care about those kinds of stuff though.

That is definitely not true. I have no idea where you get you're perception of Christianity from because I grew surrounded by Catholics and not a single person I know was taught anything close to that. You're letting a vocal minority speak for the majority.

I'm Christian and my parents have always let me play Pokemon. Sucks for your cousin though... that's just wrong.

LOL. I grew up Catholic and yet I spend 12 hours online, and some of my family members actually ENCOURAGED me to watch R rated movies. In fact, they took me to an super intense violent R Rated movie when I was 8. Although we still went to mass and all of that stuff.

J.K. Rowling is a Christian, and, so far within the 1st two chapters of the Deathly Hallows, I've heard Harry Potter & Co. say "Thank God" three times.

But of course, Rowling is just lying, and she's trying to use reverse psychology.

I'm Christian btw.

I do not get how fiction automatically = sin.

I guess it better for me to go crazy and shoot up people than playing with my pokemon. :lol:

I wonder if pokemon look like keys would it be sin? :lol:

You sure? Most kids in my school (Catholic) own Nintendo stuff. And Pokemon.

i am christian orthodox and i am playing pokemon games about a decade now xD
my little bro plays them too and he even collects yu gi oh cards
feel sorry for your cousin
i would have killed someone if he ever did something like this :P
