So I played the 3DS today...

And it was fucking MINDBLOWING!

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE AWESOMENESS OF THE SYSTEM!

...That and I've kinda forgotten how it all went down.

Point aside, I played it, and with was win. When I got to Fountain Gate (I live in suburban Melbourne) the que had just started and they just opened up. I jumped straight to SSFIV3D. Started playing, and everything was 2D. I thought it was just the menu, but then the game was in 2D. Then I realised the depth slider was off, so I slowly turned it up and BAM! My mind was blown!

Then I played AR Games, Resident Evil Mercenaries, Kid Icarus, Tested out the camera/Mii Maker, Face Raiders, Steel Diver, Nintendogs+Cats, and Zelda.

I also featured in a Nintendo Australia interview for the system, hopefully I'll be on their site.

I also went down to GameTraders and found an old GBA relic that I can't believe anyone would trade in:

tl;dr, day was full of epic.

The best part about this one is that the solar sensor isn't broken! :D
nice, boktai :O
also, spoiler's borked :P (one too many 'l's in opening tag)
I fixed it, try F5. :P

Can't say I'm a big fan of the 3D(or any thing 3D for that matter) of the 3DS, but the system is great to me. Nice find on the Boktai...one of my favorite GBA games. When I first got the game, it was a pain in the ass to get sunlight due to terrible weather. Don't like the style change of Lunar Knights.

Your so lucky you found that and with a working sensor. I have It also but my sensor broke along time ago and I would get this error all the time that would shut the game down because of It. Back then I couldn't find an answer of how to play It without a working sensor so I forgot about It for a long time and then when I seen this post I remembered It again but still don't know If I can play It with It broken.

Meh. 3D is overrated. It dims color, causes eyesores and headaches, over-exaggerates depth, distracts the viewer/player, strains eyes and lessens atmosphere. There are very few or no good things about 3D in my opinion. There's not much real need for looking at something with an artificially made extra dimension.

But Boktai. COOL!

“When 3D gets processed in the brain, that creates the perception of depth. The illusions that you see in three dimensions in the movies is not calibrated the same way that your eyes and your brain are.”

Although only about 15% of people experience nausea because of it, it's still something bad about 3D as a whole.

Wow that sounds good :)!
Can't wait to get one in my hands.. Probably won't be buying it till end of may, and by that time OOT should be out :)!!

well the 3ds has a slider to adjust that so surely the fault lies with people playing with the 3d on the wrong setting
blame the player, not the game :/

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
