Call of Duty is being attacked at too much

I played CoD:BO online at Christmas with my cousin so I can voice my opinion if you say you need to try the game out.

The game is fucking shit.
We had so much more fun playing Halo.

People complain about it because they have a right to.

Activision doesn't really do anything new with the series at all to make it stand out. They basically just take everything that IW does, and just changes the story, that's it.

They copied IW when it came to CoD 3 because IW released CoD 2. They did it with World at War after Modern Warfare. And they did it with Black Ops after Modern Warfare 2. Honestly, if I played Modern Warfare 2, and played Blops, I would not be able to tell you if it was different games.

They also release the game with the multiplayer being horribly broken. They release basically the same product every single year. What they did with Guitar Hero being the same each year, they did to Call of Duty.

Not to mention, a lot of people don't play it because of all the dicks on there and the kids and shit. I personally, don't play anything from Activision because of Kotick. And there are people like that who will not support Activision until Kotick leaves.

Played CoD. It seemed like another generic FPS to me. Nothing really stood out.

Problem is, that most people tried it, and thought it sucked. Like me. So yea..

I played black ops for 192 hrs and that's 8 days.. What made black ops good to me is, its simple FPS. That's the kind of game I like for an FPS. I used to play Counter-Strike and it kind of reminds me of it but better. Never played halo, never will simply because I don't have xbox. Perhaps, another reason, why people hating it because no one likes to get killed... A LOT.. I remember hating modern warfare 2 because I just can't kill no one lol.. Newb.. >.<

I am kinda wondering what battlefield 3 multiplayer would look like. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint me. The campaign story seems very nice but we have not seen any multiplayer gameplay yet so.

Meh... It was worth my 9 days, and 13 hours I put into it, but I'm just not seeing the point anymore. So I'm moving back to COD:MW2, where I never got bored. Might even Prestige again.

i thought black ops was alright... (campaign that is, my net is too shit for online multi)

That is the exact reason why CoD is among the most generic FPS games to date.

I played BO and Reach and while I liked BO... I liked Reach more simply because I'm a fan of the franchise more than that of COD and love the Halo universe. BO while it really don't bring much new to the series... I feel is not as bad as many people make it out to be, but then again most of the gripes I hear about it have to do with the online multiplayer.

Too bad, OP. We can voice our own opinions, and you really can't do shit about it.

I hate CoD because of how generic it is. Activision hasn't TRIED to improve it; They're just selling the same shit with a different name.

tell me what innovations does the game have since 4 apart from more weapons/perks/campstreaks other settings

You really need to try out the game till you make harsh judgements.
If you play it, it gets intense at times.
I did and no I don't suck at it nor am I the best player I often end up being 2th/3th/4th

The point of the game is very nice.
The point of it is to have you having the feeling of being at war, using much of the same strategies that they used.
It also has great weapon strategy's.
Like in a war an army lost because their gun takes too long to reload, well you may lose a match because of the same fault with that gun.

What strategy? run around the right corner seriously, Reloading is just a mater of knowing when to press R and when not.
it may be intense but so can every other online out there.

some other things I want to state about cod.
1. the killstreak system is awful and encourages camping as getting a long streak when going rambo is almost impossible it also lock's away features of the game for people who can't get such long kill combo's most of the streaks end up being mindless tools that generate kills without having to do anything to help it.
2. the games balance is not optimal and since there are barely any balance updates it never will be you can't expect a games balance to be right the first time
3. the games uses the same outdated engine for years now and it doesn't even support dx10/11
4. the guns have far to little recoil resulting in people using assault rifles in full auto even at longer distances
5. the hit reg system is far to friendly and registers hits when they really shouldn't be hits
6. it takes far to long to unlock every useful thing I am not saying it ranks to slow but you need to reach max lv to unlock everything which results in a lot of players not getting to play with all the toys
7. there is almost nothing to encourage teamplay

those are just a few reasons why I don't like cod

doesn't hide the fact i still play the game; also te fact that killzone is slowly sinking into me more often / i.e. i play COD much much much less than before.

I played COD and can still say without a doubt, I don't like any of them for any system. There is nothing special about any of them, they are just plain generic FPS.

I've been with the franchise since it first came out on the PC so I can tell you how the series has gone down hill.

It's been a straight fucking drop after CoD 2.
I mean hell ass people! Where is the creativity?

The best thing to happen to the series was the zombie mode, and even that was stolen(to a degree) from L4D! As fun as it is to frag the hell out of my buds, I'd rather play farmville. At least there, those guys don't pretend to be creative.
Modern warfare was fun though...

The reason cod doesn't "stand out" is becuase it is the centre stone of all FPS.
and who cares if all cods are basically the same.
Just not get the ewer one's then.

Though I somewhat enjoyed it up until 4 (or maybe 3) and the later rehashes. IMO (or maybe as completely true fact) it's just another overrated generic FPS. Maybe if as many people tried other genres as much as they do FPS' we would have a much more balanced gaming community.

I'm not a fan of COD at all but I seem to find myself playing MW2 more and more. Mainly because MAG (awesome game IMO) is empty, GG broke Killzone with the last update and its an easy way to talk to some of my friends...still sucks as a FPS though.

If any one wants to play a good fps get timesplitters 3. It got more creativity and charm in one level that cod has in 3 games.
It's old school, and has antiquated graphics but it's.....wait for it.....fun!

Cod is just cashing in on it's name recognition and legacy. It earned the legacy, but not for much longer.

Never played BO, but MW1 and 2 were great. MW1 was an awesome game, both campaign and multiplayer. MW2 however... I only liked the campaign really. Multiplayer was not as good as the first one and really didn't bring anything new to the franchise. I tried Halo, but hated it. I rather Unreal Tournament over Halo.
