I'm a Nintendo fan and I would much rather play my DS than a PSP. I've tried both and feel that the DS is the one for me. I love the game selections and the creative play styles.

Not everyone feels this way, and generally posting a thread calling them all 'Fucks' won't change their minds...

Most PSP owners will admit that the PSP GO sucks balls. No instant games means a no go for portability if you want to add games as you move about. The hardware's nice though.

homebrew too, to me tho ds = too psp . psp got what ds does not have ( like good fighting games) and ds got stuff the psp does not have( like creative rpg games).

That depends on your definition of 'hardcore', I guess.

Most people seem to think all hardcore games are violent and leave out non-violent games. That doesn't go without saying that I love violent games. Especially the hack and slash type.

Anyways, I'm a PSP user and a soon to be DS user (waiting for AceKard). PSP Go sucks balls as said about. Don't bring it up, it doesn't exist. It never happend.

Anyways, the PSP is truly DOMINATED by the Japanese market :\ Can say the same thing about the DS though. Atleast they have the decency to translate them into English after a few months.

i must say in a way i kind of prefer PSP altough not by very far its just that some few games such as FF Dissidia ,Monster Hunter ,Kingdom Hearts and im more of a "classic gamer" and with that i just mean i most of the times i prefer the button pressing style of game. sometimes i hate when i have to pull off the stylus to do 1 or 2 scratches and then back to playing normally so overall i prefer the PSP but the DS is DEFINETELY better when it comes to "fast fun" you can go and turn your ds on play like 5 mins of that wario game(forgot the name) and just that in PSP most of the times you'll take so long in between starting game,loading game,loading screens and such that in 5 mins you dont do anything

This pretty much sums up what I was going to say.

Hardcore isn't a style (unless it's that hard core grunge style, then never mind this) - it's the way you play a game. If you perform speed runs of a specific game, no hit runs, least item runs, most item runs, etc, or play competitively, then you're playing that game to a hard core extent. At the same time, if you play the game just to have fun, and that's all, then it's casually. That's about it. No game is more hard core than the next. Certainly, there are games that are easy to play to a hard core extent - games that suck you in and make you want to do hard core things to them (stfu), but there aren't any games that are specifically hard core, unless you NEED to play them to a hard core extent to enjoy the game, and even then, it could be argued that the game can still be played casually.

Unless of course, the lines have become so insubstantially blurred that "Hardcore" now means "mainstream." If that's the case, I'm pretty depressed about the entire situation. Or I guess, Hardcore now means blood, sex, money and violence, but if that's the case, we could just call it rap.

If you're talking about which hand held has the most submersible and competitive games, then I'd dare say it would be the DS, in my opinion. Pokemon's advanced competitions are pretty intense. That and Tetris DS is still one of the best games to submerse yourself into, and can be played to incredibly competitive intent.

War of the Lions might suffer from slow down, but does the the original? (If played on the PSP)

As many have said before me, it really depends on your definition of Hardcore.
To me they are about equal, each has a vastly different library of (native)games. With the DS you get lots of great RPG's, such as TWEWY, and platformers(like Castlevania). On the PSP there are lots of good action games(Assassins Creed), and action RPG's(such as Dissidia and Crisis Core).

When it comes down the which console is hardcore I don't actually have an opinion. I think both sides are jaded and have no idea what in the world they are talking about. However I will agree that the PSP does get the edge over the DS because Nintendo seems to have some problems with hardcore gamers...however the DS has the advantage of having that touch screen. Although not exactly comfortable (or practical) it is enough to get most people interested in a game even if the game is a remake of a 1980's game that we have played a half dozen times. I'm not entirely sure what my argument was here to be honest with you.

The PSP and the DS are generally 2 different types of handhelds. Does it really matter which one you like, and what another person likes? You see all these threads about DS fanboys, and PSP fanboys, that it just makes no sense anymore to argue which is better. For one, both are handhelds...so both get +1 there. Second, they are from different companies, so OF COURSE you will expect different games from different manufactures and the company. Third, it all depends on the type of games you want to play. If you like anime/rpg games, then yes, the DS is for you. But if you wanted shooters, racers, RPGs, AND anime, then go with the PSP since the PSP has decent graphics and hardware specs. But if you like 2D side scroller games, the DS is for you.

Just pick what you want and stay with it. Don't be a fucking fanboy and trash another system just because you have different tastes in games.

I'm not trashing anything. The only thing I'm trying to say is that the PSP isn't as "hardcore" as majority of fucktards think it is. I don't just play "hardcore games" or anything. I just play video games for fun and it's simple as that.

The PSP has good games, it's not like I'm doubting that, but it's not close to hardcore. The DS is put down for being kiddy, while the psp is hailed as the COOL, MATURE AND HARDCORE.

I own both, and neither gets that much play time from me these days.
