Well, this sucks.

So in school I am taking a high school English 1 class even though I am in eighth grade. Normally this would mean that I would get a high school credit for English 1 and not have to take it next year in ninth grade. However, Louisiana government recently passed the Every Student Succeeds Act, or ESSA. Due to regulations set in place by the act, nobody in the state of Louisiana can receive high school credit for English 1 classes, which is bad because the kids that are taking English 1 in eighth grade in Louisiana will have to take the class again in ninth grade. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a high school class in middle school doesn't it?

if it's the same exact thing, you can just save all your stuff, and then next year, it'll be an easy credit

Cant you inquire the principle about this, there shouldn't be a need to repeat a class if you have successfully passed it, similar thing kind of happened to me with algebra 1 but I couldn't do anything about it and had to re-take it even if I was told I was the highest in that class.

But cant you ask if you could not take the English class then and choose another class for that period.

it won't be the same thing my mom is making me go to a high school with a completely different curriculum

I feel for ya. Apparently, the people up in charge don't understand that you're supposed to give help to the students who need it, not hold back the students who are obviously doing better than average.

    99% of the time ordering online I have had flawless experiences, only time something was messed up, I ordered a big TV from Amazon and it came smashed the box was literally like some one jumped up and down on it, didn't even open it, contacted Amazon sent them pictures, they made me open it and take more pictures, free label to return it and they sent another. So it was relatively painless. But still annoying.
