I got a steam link for $6!

pretty neat device, I just wish i could install an os on it or if it was more open sourced.

the idea is good behind the device, but unless you really have it networked wired on both ends, your pc and the link, it will lag horriable making it unplayable. even when streaming a movie to it the words never matched the mouth. Found it much better to just run a HDMI cord from my pc to tv.

CatFace, you DO realize this isn't meant for competitive use, right? It's a game stream device...

@dragoon147 You wifi must be awful then, because I use Steam In-Home Streaming between two wireless devices quite a lot and it works flawlessly minus some occasional bugs when actually starting the game up. I even tried streaming over the internet through VPN to another location and it worked almost as well as local.

Hope there is a future with full wireless network with no issues like lag or input delay. I may be dead before that happens or even see them give up that idea.:blink:

@MrCatFace Tons of games play better with controller. Virtually every platformer, racing, rpg games are better with controller. Hell i'd even go as far as to say only FPS are really better with KB/M. That and MMORPGs.

Haven't played dark souls but skyrim is actually really easy with controller. Even archery (which is basically a FPS) For console commands and such you obviously do need kb/m.

@karloz25 steam is basically xbox live or playstation network but superior (in my opinion) because you don't have to play for online.

@NutymcNuty *pay

Don't forget that games are far far cheaper than console's and they run smoother too
