My Wii U is boring.

Before my Wii U felt like the funnest thing in the world. It had games I would enjoy playing alone and with family. I loved chilling with it all the time, but now I don't. I don't enjoy it anymore. It's not that I feel the games are old or something. Have I changed? Has my life changed? Has my Wii U changed? What happened?

Comments

I just used my Wii U like 3 days and I never used it again. I wasted money and I tought it was a good console, tbh, naw. Better buying a Wii than the Wii U.

@Alex4U Um. what dude? Especially if you get a Wii.U on sale, A Wii.U is literally a Wii plus Wii.U and DS games and some more N64 games. You also have the gamepad for web browsing and stuff which can be pretty cool and a lot better than the Wii. Hell, even Nintendon't on the gamepad.

Perhaps you changed. Perhaps you just don't have the right mindset to play. For me, not necessarily just Wii U but video games in general, I play them a lot when they're new and then after that I have to be in a real gaming mood to play them for hours on end.

Have you completed your wii u backlog? do you have a wii u backlog? Does your family still play on it with you?

@H1B1Esquire Yeah I know. I don't wanna sell it. I've had it for a good chunk of my life and getting rid of it for 'the new thing' is wrong. Seems hypocritical, even though the Wii U doesn't have feelings.

@Abu_Senpai They used to play with me more, years before. Now it's just me alone, sometimes my siblings play MP10 or MK8 or even Smash.

I'm not sure about you guys but my Wii U suddenly became slower and the browser can't load alot of https:// pages (like GBATemp, it loads with http:// but you have to manually change it.)

It probably doesn't have the soul of a slave labor child dwelling within it to warrant feelings, but I can tell you it'll be an emulation powerhouse if people ever port their work to it. That might rekindle your interest.....plus, it's one of the very few home consoles you can play without a TV and doubles as a poor man's surround sound.

Got a point there. I'm thinking I'm going to sell it Early 2018 and get a Switch. I need a little bit longer with the Wii U and am waiting for boot1hax to be created/released.

I used to play my Wii all the time. Around your age, I largely stopped playing video games. The occasional Pokémon or Zelda game still peaks my interest enough to be played, but I play video games far less than I used to. I have yet to develop any interest in buying a Switch.

TLDR, you're growing up.

Yes, the Wii U has drastically changed to become a console unfit for enjoyment. On a serious note, it's probably just because you're burnt out on it. Play some games on a different console, or just take a break from it for a bit, and then come back to it. Chances are, it'll seem like fun again afterwards.
