I Feel the Earth Move

So, Mexico got a few hours ago an Earthquake worse than that of last weeks. Its epicenter was much closer, and it made several buildings fall already.

No number of casualties so far, it was just 3 hours ago, today September 19th, but given the images and videos, it's sure a lot of people has perished.

The government here is so corrupt, that even September 5th's Earthquake victims further south, has received nearly no help from government instances, but from kind volunteers from other states.

PS. For those who entered because of remembering Carole King, here's the Youtube link:

B
Yeah, I haven't heard the best about the Mexican government from others. My regards, stay safe.

I'm fine, everyone. Thanks for your comments.

I live far from where the actual disaster ocurred, I think where I live got to feel around the 5% of the actual Earthquake. There was no buildings falling here.

I have some family in the place where it damaged the most, though. Two of them are disappeared, but I hope it's because of the power shortage many places are suffering even now.

I'm currently in Guanajuato, Mexico and I heard the news. -coming in all late-

i'm glad to hear you're okay! my family is doing well so it was a relief when I knew this. its so unfortunate to what happened to many others though. I've donated already too.

and yes, our government is corrupt.

@Yumi Yes, it's a shame. Sadly.

Many people is sending donations of money and/or basic basket and needed drugs, but still, I heard some political parties got to catch some of the donations sent by people to only stamp a label with their name so people thinks they made the donations.

This is sad...

I sometimes wish I was born in another country, but some other times I just wish to stay here so I can help people who is mistreated by the gorvernment. It's not that I do that much for others, but I try to be helpful whenever I can be.

I really feel so sorry for everyone who has suffered the loss of a beloved one because of this. I think everything that's left is to hope for a better tomorrow...

@Olmectron

You know how our government is. I'm not surprised they would do something like that.
Ugh! I understand your feelings, I wish our country wasn't the way it is. We have a lot of beautiful culture, delicious food, etc

I donated to the TOPOS brigade since I trust them more than others.

There has been places around here to donate food for those affected and I try to donate as much as I can.

I think the change we want won't happen until our people revolt one day. It's going to be scary when it comes to that but if it is needed then so be it. >_<

I didn't lost anything nor anyone. But the ACTUAL LACK OF REPLICAS STILL WORRIES ME. At least, I couldn't feel it if it actually was one already.

On the helping matter. I was going to be translating the brigades of foreign helpers, but where I live there's little security, no transport, no justice. We've actually heard some gunshots quite often.

And if you're a Mexican, and you want to help, please wait at least 1 month to make your donations. I would like to donate all the shoes and clothing I don't use anymore.
I hardly recommend you to wait because, think about it this way:
What will happen with all those who couldn't get dominations this week?
That's why I'm waiting to donate my clothes. Because there will be a few people forgotten as all help is going to the most devastated places, and they have sufficient help already.

The FUCK?
My comment wasn't posted.

So, I live in Mexico City. Condo, 2nd floor. 80 miles away from the epicenter.

It felt fuckingly strong. I felt two movements at the same time, one being JUST slightly after the first one.

I was in bed, getting ready my working table. Suddenly, my bed became a trampoline.
If you've been sit in the middle of a trampoline with kids jumping around you, not being able to stand, that's how it felt. A few seconds afterwards, the second movement began. I could feel the whole building spinning from left to right.
Being able to escape the building was nearly impossible. No matter how hard you tried to walk, you couldn't. Not because the fear, but because the movement was so strong that it was impossible to move forward.

I am lucky to still have a place to live, and all my family with me. I don't know how but, I survived. The building survived.

Gosh. Sometimes I can feel my whole apartment trembling. When I stand still I can feel it moving up and down rapidly.
But that's just histeria.
