As the title says I've found a 4Gb MicroSD on the subway, the question is, should I open it on a VM/separate PC, format it or just break it and toss it away?
@tech3475, there was nothing available to give the card to because Portugal sucks, also you can see on the previous page that i indeed tried to find the owner of the card but with no success.
Giving it to lost & found would be pointless IMO, they're never going make an attempt at finding the owner after having a look initially and finding no identifying info.
And anyway, it's a 4GB card, it's almost worthless.
Maybe see if you can find the owner using TinEye or Google's Reverse Image Search, they are far from perfect but it's worth a try.
Maybe ask around on local facebook groups in the area if anyone lost a 4GB SD card. Then if someone tells you yes, ask them to prove it by showing a picture of the same person that's on the card.
If you can't find the owner after trying everything, just format it and keep it.
I only skimmed so apologies if someone else mentioned it http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi
Feed that an image and if someone used it in a device with GPS (phones often have the option) the images might be tagged with where they were taken.
Be very fucking careful what you do next if there is GPS info.
I once repaired a 15 year old girl's laptop, my friend kept nagging me to snoop on it, so I gave in. Her laptop's ribbon cable was dcd, so she had no chance to delete anything. What did I find? Well, she's not as innocent as everyone thought, tonnnnnnnnnnns of hardcore gay porn.
Oh, I wasn't a complete dick, and told nobody, except this thread.

If there's info, reload your AK-47 and slowly approach the house.
You never know what could hit you.
(I'm joking but by that i mean, be careful. Don't instantly drive there like a moron)
