The Wii U is a gaming wet dream.

Just got a Wii U for my birthday! Cheezus Cheddar Cracker Christ, this console is fucking ORGASMIC.

For the life of me, I just can't understand why people hate on the Wii U so much. It's a freaking Nintendo Dreamcast HD! The gamepad is great, with the screen and the controller at just the right size. I actually love how it feels in my hands. I also have to compliment the speakers on the Gamepad, very sharp.

Smash is amazing, Bayonetta 1&2 are fucking MARVELOUS, Super Mario 3D World is out of this universe.

I'm having a total gamer-gasm with this thing.

Oh, yeah. I'll go post my Nintendo Network ID over in the appropriate thread. Might as well drop my 3DS FC while I'm at it.

With the lack of games of the wii U, you'll instantly become a completionist of its games. hahaha

Yeah, I totally agree with TS. Wii U is awesome. It's unique.
Wii U + gaming PC is all you need since most games anyway are multiplatform.

there isn't even that many
Yes there is. Over 300 games are available for the Wii U, either through retail or download. The usually release 2 or 3 indie games a week now. Most of them are pretty fun too.

The "no games" joke was never funny, since it's been recycled for every system in the past 20 years, but it hasn't been accurate either for over a year and a half.

Oh look, the Wii U haters came in full force :creep: Now, now, let's be good little children and go back to worshiping Sony and their never having made a single mistake, shall we?

The Wii U gets four games worth playing in four months = best console this gen and the only console to own.

Dostoevskiy once said that sacrastic approach is a last resort of a man whos soul get wounded too much by the others. He was like most wise man in history, so you better listen.
And yeah, Wii U have only just a few original titles and 3rd party shows no interest on that console nowdays.

You realize sheer number of games means nothing, right?

PS4 has been out just over a year: 388 games
Wii U has been out two years: 457 games

So does the PS4 have a lot for one year, or does the Wii U have little for two?

In addition, how many of those games on either console are actually worth playing and owning? It's like saying that any game system near the end of its life is suddenly great and worth owning since, by then, it is sure to have well over a thousand titles available to play. Now, let's say there is exactly 1000 releases on a given platform, imagine if: 600 of those titles are shovelware, 300 are inferior versions of games available on other platforms, and 80 are simply crap despite the developer actually trying, that only leaves 20 good games for a person to pick from in order to find games they like. Suddenly just tossing the total number around isn't all that impressive.

People use "no games" not because a system literally has zero games. The fact that you're interpreting it so literally tells me that you are rather desperate to prove the worth of the Wii U. The use of "no games" is simply to say that there are no games really worth owning, and where the Wii U is concerned, that is true for many, many people. For quite a few, the Wii U has "no games" because it has nothing they would like to play, and the Wii U receives this treatment the most often as it is the least popular system of the current generation.

Acting as if criticism can't be justified is silly as well. The Wii U falls short in many ways, especially for a console now a year older than the competition that's outdoing it.

Would you like to expand on that?

Anyway, the eShop is where it's at. I'm just sad that the Digital Deluxe Program ($5 back for every $50 you spend) ends this year.

The "no games" joke is an exaggeration of "very few games". And the Wii U had very few games for quite some time. I was just making a point. I didn't compare it to another console, or put any others down. Stop acting like I was making a challenge.

Sarcasm, yeah, that works real well on the internet I hear.:creep: Oh and liking a Nintendo console on the Temp is punishable by emasculation :P ;)

You were acting as if the Wii U was impressive based on game number alone. I simply presented an example as to why total game number means little, and how even that can be used against the Wii U at this point in time. I only used the PS4 as an example as it had a comparable game number, and it helped to pose the question that, if game number alone is enough, if the PS4 is worth owning simply due to its game #:time released ratio being higher.

It's a flawed logic is basically all I was pointing out, I suppose.

No I wasn't. Stop being an idiot. He said there weren't hundreds of games, I said there were. Then you jumped in and started going on about shovelware, like anybody here didn't already know that. What's next, are you going to explain the concept of third party games? You know, because here at GBAtemp you're the only person who's ever played one before.

And just so we're clear, I'm standing by the notion that you're an idiot. Maybe if you stop pointing out the obvious like you're the only one who notices, I'll change my mind.

p1ngpong I'm being serious, what are the three/four games that meet your standards? Also, do you own a Wii U?

Wii U have few, but great first party games. End of story :yayu:
Please everyone like each other and play Smash! :moogle:

Making this sort of discussion was a mistake from the get go. Pretty much, it's impossible to discuss Nintendo civilly on the internet, much less on the Temp because, reasons.:creep:

Damn bro, (wii) u mad.

For unknown reasons, nintendo fans are hated.
Nah, everyone hates everyone. It's just that if you don't say something terrible about any given system, you are labeled as a fanboy.

If Nathan Drake had said the same thing about any other system, I would have been pissed for the same reason. He's stating the obvious and trying to pass it off as intelligence.

I think I'd best vacate the premises for a little bit lest I turn into the Incredible Hulk Fanboy if you know what I'm sayin' ;) ^_^
