Captain Bortz's Piracy Cove

Has anyone here heard of "piracy syndrome"?
I think its where you download too much and dont know what to play. You end up just going back and playing your favorites or just endlessly browsing the temp and facebook for videogame shiz and dreaming about playing them, but when it comes to the time to play them, you just cant decided cause you have too much to play.

Well i think my "piracy syndrome" is now in stage 2. Im starting to feel like a pirate who has already pillaged the high seas and has a huge horde of treasure. Im looking for a place to stash it all.

I dont really play games much anymore, even though im trying to force myself to do so, cause i have SO much i wanna play.
Fast made a thread of the "legendary games you HAVENT played" and made a list. I have a few series i want to play though, unfortuanly they are mostly RPGs and long ass balls.
1. The Dragon Quest Series. Staring at 1&2 and playing all the way to 9.
Dragon Quest
Dragon Quest 2 (started)
Dragon Quest 3
Dragon Quest 4
Dragon Quest 5

Dragon Quest 6 (started)
Dragon Quest 7 (started)
Dragon Quest 8 Play this one with the orchestrated sound track!
Dragon Quest 9 (started)
Dragon Quest X (online only)
Dragon Quest 11
2. The Final Fantasy Series. Starting at 1 on the NES and playing all the way to 9. I have already played 7 and 9, as well as all of the Tactics spinoffs. If i want to play more, I own 12 and have a 360 if i want to ever get 13 and 13-2.
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy III (DS)
Final Fantasy IV (started)
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII (probably gonna watch this one on YouTube...)
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X / X2
Final Fantasy XI (online)
Final Fantasy XII (playing right now)
Final Fantasy XIII / XIII - 2 / XIII - 3
Final Fantasy XiV (online)
Final Fantasy XV (probably gonna pass on this one

Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (playing on my phone)
3. Legend of Zelda series. This one, im already pretty far along with. Ive played Links Awakening, Link to the Past, Twilight Princess, Minish Cap, and i started OoT on my 3DS. Ill start at the NES Zelda game and play 2, Ages, Seasons, Wind Waker, MM, Skyward Sword, and the DS ones.
Original
Adventures of Link (2)
Link's Awakening
Link to the Past

Oracle of Ages / Oracles of Seasons
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Wind Waker
Minish Cap
Phantom Hourglass
Spirit Tracks
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Link Between Worlds
Breath of the Wild
4. Not nearly as time consuming, but i want to play thought Golden Sun again. The first time i got thought the whole game, after beating Karst and whoever that dude was, my game glitched and i never got the Mars star into my inventory again... Id like to emulate them, but NOTHING emulates The lost age well. At all.

So i can emulate most of those. So that means that i start downloading them. All. Right now, i have most of my DSTwo's memory clogged with DQ4,5,6, 9 and tons of other games that I skipped over during the DS's life.

I recently bought a 3DS too. So what does that mean? Now im starting to purchase games for my 3DS and again, just stockpile them. I already own Zelda OoT, SMT: Devil Survivor, MK7. Super Mario Land, Kid Icarus uprising... And i want more. But i dont have the time to play all of this. But i cant sell or delete the files... I want to keep them. I filled the rest of my DS's memory with all the NES games i could find, as well as some GBA classics.

I have so many systems and so many games. I havent even touched on the HDD full of wii games i want to beat too...

Thoughtss...?

Same.

Exact.

Thing.

I got myself a psp go, but i limited the amount of games I have stored on it (I have 20GB total space in there). It helps, and I've been beating the games I start.

Meanwhile my DSTWO has every DS "hit" stored on it and I can't play anything for more than 20 minutes without looking for a save point to turn it off.

I have thought "maybe I just have a short attention span" or something like that, but when I buy a 3DS game, I play it for hours.

First world problems.
Ha im kinda afraid to ask what your tips are Emigre lol
Is it because the truth hurts?

Is one of those tips "buy games"? :P

I have a similar thing. I have been trying to beet it by simply not downloading any more games. Instead completing some of the many, many games I have downloaded or bought over the years and never finished. Going pretty well so far, been doing it for a couple of months and I have finished near a dozen games on the list.

I really want to play Dishonoured - but maybe in a dozen more..

The best way I found to combat this is to play a game you've decided on from start to finish and don't touch anything else during that playthrough. Keep a personal log and try to be as effective you can with your available free time. From personal experience I must say It's hard as hell but also essential when you have a packed schedule.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the last thing you want to do is switching games if you can't get into it within the first hour or so, some games require you to play for quite a bit before you actually get engaged with the gameplay. For example pokefloote wanted to get his money's worth when buying 3DS titles which means that he played them for longer periods and actually got involved with what the game was all about, at first it sucks but just keep at it and it will pay off.

I was honestly looking to buy a Vita since it was hacked. I like to have most of my portable and older games on a single unit. If the Vita's GBA emulator could handle the GS games, then I'll be happy.

Really and truly, I haven't played a portable game in months. With the exception of Pokemon every now and again, my 3DS hasn't even been charged in 2 months. I play my 360 much more than is healthy, and I've been no lifing anime. I'm kinda hoping the Vita could restore some of my lost portable enthusiasm like the PSP did.
Yes. What are they?
What I've gone is limit the amount of memory available to me. With the DS, I have a 1GB Micro SD, with my PSP, I use a 4GB MSPD and with my Wii, I use a 16GB USB. This means I can only have so many games available to me at one time. Having a dozen JRPGs available to you at time can allow for distraction to occur. Hence just have a limited number of games available to you to keep your focus.

I also try and not think too much about what new games are released just to keep my attention on the ones I'm playing. Now if I like a game, I tend to finish it.

Personally I don't pirate that much, I download several games sure, then I try them out (when it's not games that I'm really knowledgeable about, otherwise I'd just get them on launch), if I like the game I downloaded, then I go and buy it, or just order it online, and continue to play the game illegally until my legit copy arrives, and then I usually just export the save files. z.z
The only systems where I pirated quite a bit were the DS and the PS2, since a lot of games never really made to to Europe and exporting them usually wound up too expensive at the time. One of the joys of purchasing a game, is completing that game until the end and after that, you feel refreshed for beating it, with pirating, if people just get stuck somewhere at a game, they either go look for faqs, or just started playing a dif game and forget about that one, it's a pretty sad thing actually, since it takes a lot out from gaming. x.x

The ISO is around that size but the install data takes up something like 200-300mb as well. And a 2GB card will be at 1.8 GB. It would certainly be a tight fit.
