BatteryCheck: Never had any clue there were cheatcodes in the original!!

This game came out in 1998 and I have played it for years but I have never even realized that it had cheatcodes!!! I have been introduced to discord by @V10lator and I have been looking around for other cool and interesting servers to join. Most notablly: ps2dev, pspdev and jazz jackrabbit!! While exploring how discord works and seeing if something of BatteryCheck was already in the Jazz2 server I noticed that my name was already mention on there, hahaha. At least my username on the Jazz2Online forums

Someone known as "Love & Thunder" is working on something similar as me by recreating BatteryCheck's levels and objects inside of the real JJ2. Or actually the enhanced version JJ2+ that allows AngelScript to customize a lot of things in the level and game engine. :D

In a couple of old messages I discovered these cheat codes for the original windows PC game:
Code:
hhklm - fly mode
hhzondertanden - no enemies
hhzonderhanden - activate all machines
hhstroom - full energy
hhsupbat - all super batteries
hhvolgende - next level
hhpluseen - extra life (+1)
hhsterf - kill yourself
The "flymode" is brilliant!! KLM is the royal dutch airlines, hahahaha :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

I tested them and they all work...very easy to get to the boss level using these codes. :rofl2:

Now I really want to implement these codes too!!! Or at least their function for debugging :D

Not that surprising. Hope I remember that correctly:
Jazz2 had cheat codes as well and they all started with jj and could be typed anytime while playing.

How to implement this? The consoles (normally) don't have a keyboard attached.

It is impossible to step into the living room at the moment due to ongoing renovation. Furniture everywhere it shouldn't be, fresh paint on the wooden floor; you get the idea. But you should know I keep my promises. Once the whole thing is over and my things including all the consoles and games and cables and... are back at their place, the tests with your alpha-releases are on the top of the "to do" list.

It shouldn't be long now. Every work in my old house takes at least twice as long as expected but I'm nearly through all of it now.

I never really played Jazz2 even though I bought it three years ago...purely to get the assets legally! But I read a few things about the codes indeed starting with jj.
The one porting BatteryCheck into Jazz2 even implemented these codes into it!:rofl2:

For my version though I need to use button combo's I guess. Just like most other games did. I never used them...but my cousins playing GTA SA on PS2 always did stuf like "up up left down triangle...etc" to get stuff. I was thinking to do the same....no idea how to actually implement 'cheatcode detection' yet though, hahaha

Renobations are a mess...but the end result should be worth it right?
It no problem that you did not get arround to it yet, in fact maybe it's a good thing! Then I can fix more bugs before you can even notice them, hahaha:rofl2:

I have especially messed something up with the water and belts! The dimensions are wrong! And not just a little...some pools are just a single tile in size now! And some belt are too long...or too short!

It's not a platform specific bug either, its on ALL of them! It's got to be with my 'horrible solution for a terrible problem' thing I blogged about momths ago! I just don't know for sure that's really the issue.

Anyway, I hope your renovation goes well. :D

BigOnYa @ BigOnYa: I played the intro to far cry 5, that is like some crazy Jim Jones cult shit. Still its petty...
