Hardware Would you change the Wii U's name, and if so, to what?

Do you like the name of the Wii U?

I think we probably will have the same issue with confusion if it was name wii *insert anything* (2, wii next, wii are a new system, etc) but taking the wii out,
less would probably notice. So yeah, they just have to rely on advertising better.

Along those lines maybe they should just rip off Microsoft's numbering scheme and call it Nintendo 6, Nintendo 2012 or Wii 2012 for that matter . . . Even more in with the random numbering system used in other electronics products (that you mentioned) would be something like the Nintendo 451D.

Yeah, cool name, the Nintendo Owaitaminu...
Oh ... wait ... I get it ...

But really, the fact that like three people including yourself gave that idea just shows that maybe it's what Nintendo really SHOULD have named the Wii U.
Unfortunately, the name's kinda taken by the Ultra 64 :(

Really couldn't care less to be honest... after the e3 show it's clear they're still big on us using the Wiimotes so keeping the Wii name makes sense (and Wii 2 would be so blah!), plus now the general public has finally figured out '3DS' doesn't actually mean 'DS with a 3D screen'... Still, the console itself could've had a redesign: aside from being a bit sleeker/bigger arse the similarities are striking (then again.. *looks at his 3DS* - D'oh!)
