Hardware Why do some apps recognize usb3 and some dont?

For example, usb loader gx does not, but wiimc does?

Could be the ios they're using or some other difference in programming.

WiiMC uses ios 58 according to the wiki.

Nothing on Wii supports USB 3 because the system doesn't have USB 3. It has USB 2.

Whether or not a USB 3 device will work depends on how broken the device's controller is.
