does the soft mod make it region free aswell?(like most other mods) or do i need to download games that are NTSC?

Ok sorry, but 1 more question. my computer is far away from my router and modem. so would pluging an ethernet cable from my xbox to my computer work for the FTP, because i have tried that and the xbox displays an ip now, however the FTP client cannot connect to the xbox
