Have you ever bought a shiny new android phone, formatted your SD card as internal memory, and installed apps to it only to find that half of them are missing upon reboot? Don't worry, it has happened to many of us. Today, I will teach you some tricks so that this never happens again!

Why this occurs:
The reason why this occurs is due to a bug in android, where the Launcher (a.k.a. the home screen) launches before the SD card is even mounted. Since it doesn't refresh itself, you're stuck with only half of your apps being showed and accessible on the home screen, yet you may see them in your settings for some reason. This may sound impossible to fix if you're not familiar with programming, yet there are simple fixes that will fix this problem right up!

Method 1 (The waiting method):
This method isn't guaranteed to work, but it can work depending on your phone and it's configuration.
1. Reboot your phone
2. Time how long it takes before all your apps show up in the apps section of your settings
3. Next time you reboot your phone, do not unlock until you're sure the card is mounted.
4. Cry if this doesn't work, and move on to method 2 or 3

Method 2 (The launcher switcheroo method):
This method is guaranteed to work, and is great if you're using a launcher that doesn't allow you to force close it
1. Make sure you have two launchers; one you use, and one you don't use
2. Make sure both launchers are set up and functional
3. Before rebooting, set your launcher to the one you don't want to use
4. Reboot
5. Time how long it takes for your SD to mount/make sure your SD is mounted (you'll know because all of your apps will appear in settings)
6. Switch to the launcher you want to use
7. Repeat Steps 3-6 whenever you reboot

Method 3 (Using The Force):
This method is guaranteed if you're launcher allows you to force close it. It's great because it is the easiest and least time consuming out of all other methods.
1. Reboot device
2. Time how long it takes for your SD to mount/make sure it is mounted (you'll know because all of your apps will appear in settings)
3. Go to your apps
4. Find your launcher
5. Click the Force Close button
6. Repeat steps 2-5 whenever you reboot

Thank you for reading, please let me know if it worked for you.

PLEASE NOTE: Stock Android will usually take about 1/2-1 minute to mount the SD card
