Some sites could want to use NNID as a 3rd party login option - such as Miiverse clones.
However, using NNID as authentication requires a key, and you cannot obtain a key without Lord Miyamoto's honorary permission.
That's why I've thought about this app:
- A site generates you a code.
- You boot up a 3DS, launch the app, and input the code.
- The app calls up the "sign in with NNID" pop-up.
- Once auth is done, a confirmation key is generated.
- The confirmation key is then entered on the website and you are logged in.
The app would have a public API for sites to generate codes and accept corresponding confirmation keys. No keys or honorary permissions required.
