USB3.0 750 GB KESU Leading Technology HDD

I have it formatted to FAT32, and 32 clusters using GUIFormat, I have the Wii games in .wbfs and the folder path correct, I have the GameCube games as .iso and the folder path correct (I am 100% sure those are not the problems, I have looked countless times and know how to properly do the path)

I have it plugged into port 0 yes, It doesn’t need external power, I’m extremely lost as to why it won’t work for anything on the wii

USBLoaderGX won’t pick up the device in general

Nintendont says “USB Device not initialized.”

The USB port on the Wii has Limited Power so if it's a 2.5" HDD you'll need a Y Cable or 1 usb female to 2 usb male to deliver enough power.
Listen to the drive if it spins up and/or if it keeps loosing power.

next: check the settings, sometimes usbloaderGX is set to USB1.

Gamecube games should be like USB:\games\fzero\game.iso
Wii Games should be like USB:\wbfs\NAME [TITLE_ID]\TITLE_ID.wbfs

If you HDD works on you pc, then the issues are connected with the Wii compatibility &/or Wii power output.

Have a search here at GBA for a HDD compatibilities list. Hope yours is listed :)

THE HDD is not detected during ULGX startup? You can try to mount it manually:

- In "Hard Drive settings", set "Mount USB at launch" to "OFF"
- Click on "Game/Install Partitions" (it should currently display "Not initialized"). Wait a bit to see if the FAT32 partition is detected.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About your other thread about GC games not detected:

Rather than GuiFormat, try Minitool Partition Wizard Portable to format.
Links are in this post:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-gam...but-gamecube-games-dont.632149/#post-10145172
(it worked for this guy)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly, you can check the partition table to see if there's any OEM hidden partitions with DMDE: https://dmde.com/download.html (no install required , only extracted files)

I have a 500Go HDD, one FAT partition (~200Go) as primary (using Guiformat too), and one NTFS partition (~300Go).

ULGX detects the two partitions only manually (not during startup), and reads all Wii games with no problem.
But Nintendont says "the FAT32 device can not be opened".

Using DMDE, it seems there's still an active boot sector ("C" on the screenshot below) on this hidden partition (although erased) in the partition table, that prevents Nintendont to detect the FAT32 partition, even it is set to primary.

Now I'm lazy to fully clean the HDD (with Diskpart), use Minitool Partition to correctly format the FAT32 partition, and copy all games again.^^
