My apologies for the late reply!!
Thank you so much for your support, I'm glad you want to experiment with this game like I do! If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate me to send me a message.
Yes, I noticed the debug strings in that file. Unfortunately, I haven't worked out enough...
Whelp, I said I'd be back with an update, and I am.

I am releasing an updated version of my previous utility, known as LibRipper, and introducing a brand-new utility called LibCreate!
LibCreate is a utility that can convert standard UTF-8 text...
Did you miss me?
It's been a while since I last posted here with any significant updates about my reverse engineering work on Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. Quite frankly, that's because I haven't made much progress. Life has gotten in the way, and as much as I wish I could, I can't drop...
Yes, you need to run that through an LZ77 decompressor. These tools are excellent, and will work with every variant of LZ77 compression used by the DS. Try running it through these tools until you get a decompressed file that gives no errors and/or has no garbled text.
Edit: It also looks as...
So I know I said that I would edit my previous post once the Github repository was live.
I did do that, but it took my far longer than originally anticipated and I want to make sure no one that wants to see this misses it.
Here it is!

Hello again!
In my introduction post, I mentioned that I was working on reverse engineering the inner workings of Solatorobo: Red the Hunter with the hope of opening it up to the modding community so that someone far more talented than me can come along and give it the attention it deserves...
Greetings!
I am currently working on breaking open Solatorobo myself. Those tools are very incomplete and don't seem to fully work.
If you use something like Console Tool or Tinke to look at the internal files of the game, you'll notice a couple of font-related files in the "contents" folder...
Update: It's been a while and I realized I'm just a moron. It's compressed once. Oops! Currently trying to integrate a modified version of PeterLemon's LZX decompression utility into my CCB extractor. Next step after cracking extracting these things (with one self-contained utility, you can do...
It is! Particularly when they intentionally made sure the second pass would not make the file any smaller. Hopefully as I figure out the encoding process I'll figure out how, and some potential reason why. There may be no good reason, but there's gotta be a reason.
Thanks for the links, you guys! Yeah, PeterLemon's tools work perfectly, but for my purposes, I'd have to either treat them as a black box and filter my data around them, or reverse engineer the compression algorithm from those. I figured there was some better documentation out there somewhere...
Hello everyone!
I am beginning the long process of reverse engineering the various inner workings of Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. I'm very new to the field of DS ROM hacking, and am in the early days of this project, so the first thing I thought I would do to get my feet wet would be to write a...
I seen a bunny rabbit get swept up and taken by a hawk yesterday in my back yard, it left a bunch of rabbit hair in grass. Wild to see it fly off carrying a rabbit.
The other night was watching tv in my screened in porch, and heard something walking on my porch roof, thought maybe it was a raccoon, so I grabbed my rifle and went out to look, it was just a duck, lol
