Homebrew Homebrew app Project Cloud sync homebrew

Yeah, the idea is using it for the data that matters (like saves). Games can always be reinstalled (and keeping the cia files for games around on the 3ds would be dumb anyway) but save data is important. IMO for stuff like ROMs, the wait isn't that long, so especially if i'm just adding a couple...

Homebrew Homebrew app Project Cloud sync homebrew

The sync is selective, you choose which folders get backed up. You don't really need to back up your system credit card info, even if you could (it's stored on the system memory, not the SD so it's a pain) since the eShop doesn't exist anymore.

Homebrew Homebrew app Project Cloud sync homebrew

Firstly, all the big cloud storage providers have an API that you use an OAuth key to authenticate, and HTTPS is a thing that exists. Secondly, is this really a desirable attack target? Like, don't get me wrong, security is a big thing for me too, but who cares if someone gets a hold of your...

Homebrew Homebrew app Project Cloud sync homebrew

What makes it any different from, say, installing stuff via something like universal-updater or hShop? If those are what you'd consider insecure then that's fair, but it's a level of security I'm kinda fine with.

Homebrew Homebrew app Project Cloud sync homebrew

[ To preface, I'm not just posing this idea for someone else to make, I'm gauging interest in a project I'm planning on making. ] [ Also, skip to the next set of square brackets if you don't care about the why, and you just want to know what the idea is. ] Managing saves, roms, etc. between...

    retro/emulator controller options?

So my plan is to use my wii as an "everything box" for my CRT, including wii and gamecube games plus emulation. The wii and gamecube part I've got covered controller-wise, but for emulated games I'm wondering what my best option is in terms of controllers. If all else fails, I'll just get a...

Hacking My SD card corrupts when I install certain games via tinfoil

That's a good idea, if what I'm doing right now doesn't work I'll try that But I did keep those old backups on a usb in a dusty drawer in the corner of my room for a couple of years, so I've decided to do fresh dumps. So far it's been working out combined with a fresh CFW install, so it seems...

Hacking My SD card corrupts when I install certain games via tinfoil

Did the test after a format and it all looks nominal. and since i formatted the card i don't really think it'd be productive to look at the SD info unless i were to do the whole copy again, which i'm trying to avoid. i think at this point I'm just going to try a clean emuMMC install onto the...

Hacking My SD card corrupts when I install certain games via tinfoil

I did the test using f3 on linux, and everything looks fine (see screenshot). Also, I get over 50+ gigs into the card while installing stuff, don't sd card scammers normally use 4 or 8 gb cards? (the reason it's only 56 gigs is because there was already 66 gb taken up by files, so it didn't...

Hacking My SD card corrupts when I install certain games via tinfoil

that's not the problem though. like i say, it only happens when installing certain files, pretty much as soon as i begin their installation, and I've installed different total sizes of games before i tried them each time i've had to go through the process. the SD capacity is not the problem here

Hacking My SD card corrupts when I install certain games via tinfoil

It's a tech store who I know buys directly from the brands. And the card is formatted in fat32.

Hacking My SD card corrupts when I install certain games via tinfoil

I'm trying to move to a bigger SD card, and I've succeeded multiple times, so that may not be part of the problem, just thought I'd mention it for context. The problem is that installing my backups via tinfoil has seemingly corrupted my whole SD card multiple times, as atmosphere crashes and...

Hacking Can't boot an RCM payload after accidentally removing SD

I can boot fine, and I've confirmed it's going into RCM, it's just that I can't launch hekate to boot into atmosphere.

Hacking Can't boot an RCM payload after accidentally removing SD

I accidentally removed my SD while booted into atmosphere, and naturally it crashed. I tried rebooting to payload (hekate), but it couldn't do it and so it shut down. Now I can't push any payloads when I boot into RCM. Fusee-interfacee-tk-linux detects the device, but when I try to push hekate...
