2020 by all accounts has been an awful year. But not all is bad, DQM2 3DS is finally gonna be fully translated, major kudos to all involved. So excited :D
haha oh good, I thought I was missing out on something (im not interested in online).
If you could that would be really helpful going forward, thanks again!!!! :)
I didnt know there was an offical 1.1 update (cant find it online for the life of me).... what does that update do? Thanks for the 0.4 update <3
Damn the patcher doesnt work with .3ds files
Have you tried reaching out to Helmax - didnt his team finish the translation. If so all you would need is a few english speakers to paraphrase and condense the full translation to meet the 58 word requirement. Significantly reducing the workload
You don't need a 3DS to patch the game, the HackingToolkit3DS.exe is a PC application, as is the other tool, Detlax. Whilst Ich's guide is geared towards those that have and use a 3DS, the guide is perfectly fine for patching the .3ds file (which is used in citra).
Read the instructions; but...
Hi @Yomiship I can answer your question. I'm guessing when you say youve got a clean version of the game, you mean you have a .3ds file (like I do) as opposed to a .cia file. To patch it, follow Ich's installation guidelines - But when using the HackingToolkit3DS.exe select D to extract the .3ds...
Oh it doesnt work if you try to apply the patch 0.2.1 to an already patched version of the game. But your original guide works for a clean unpatched version. I have an extracted clean version of the game; and then I patch it with each release. So I have a 0.1 version, 0.2 version and 0.2.1...
Oh god, I just patched it the old fashioned way lol :(
....hmmm then again it may work? Ive been patching from scratch, as opposed to trying to patch over my patched file?
@Ich_73 hey, it looks like you have changed the installation guide and I think there is an error:
Patching the banner
Run xdeltaUI.exe from the previously downloaded xdelta UI
Select Patch: banner.xdelta from the zip archive
Select Source File: banner-JA.bin inside your main folder (e.g...
@Ich_73 Okay, so the latest patch is causing a crash when entering a battle. Gonna test some more; Weird considering I fought metal slimes just after patching without issue.
Battle Crashes: Tested, and its seems to be linked to some of the locations:
Ice World Map: Crash
Water World Map: Crash...
Ich’s instructions are for patching CIA files, but the instructions still work for the 3DS file format (used by citra) when extracting or repacking the file make sure you press the correct keys for the 3DS file format instead of CIA In the patcher.
AVG sends unknown exe files off for validation. I should be able to use it soon. At this rate you guys will probably have done the bulk of the work though haha, thanks again :)
Thanks for the latest update Ich! I tried downloading the Binj editor (To try it out) but my anti virus quarantined it. Any luck with code.bin text restriction?
its heartbreaking that the translation is done, but some line of code is preventing potentially the best game in the monster series from getting translated. So im guessing somewhere in that code.bin file there is a solution to all this...
