Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

I was just talking to someone else with this same exact problem, I wonder why this is happening

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

So I have some new information here..when I enabled some option in the Luma configuration screen and booted, I see some verbose logging that states the following: An exception occurred Processor: ARM9 Exception Type: prefetch abort (svcBreak) ..then it shows a ton of what I assume is memory...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

Well damn, that's pretty weird. What ever came out of that situation? Did you just end up parting the system out or replacing it or something? I think it's kind of crazy that even if it was a hardware fault, that it would let certain things boot, while others not. Is there any diagnostics...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

I tried the US one twice, I just downloaded the European one, so I guess we'll see what happens next lol. This won't brick it any further if it's the wrong region?

Actually, no, I'm not. Where can I find that out?

So even though you spilled body wash on it, it still turned on and only booted into GodMode9? I'm not sure of this system's history, as I obtained it like this, but it doesn't seem like anything has been spilled in it, nor does it smell like body wash lol.

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

Just popped it open to verify that the wifi card was seated properly, and it is. No sound after the system boots because the system doesn't boot at all, it goes straight to a black screen whenever I power it up, unless I boot into GodMode9 or the Luma Configuration Screen Tried that twice now...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

I did. It boots fine to GodMode9 and the Luma Configuration screen without the SD card in the system, but with or without the SD card it just black-screens during any boot where I'm not holding down either Start or Select. Also, no recovery mode at all when I try to boot while holding down...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

Yes, boot.firm is on the root of the SD card, as well as at the root of the [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND directory That, I'm not sure of because this console hasn't been able to boot to the regular 3DS home screen at all, so I can't get into system settings to verify that. Is there another way to...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

Well, I did replace that file with the boot.firm file from the Luma3DS.7z as the guide mentions, and that's currently in my [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND directory, which is why (I'm assuming) it can now boot without the "arm9loaderhax_si.bin" file (and without an SD card), but like I said, I'm not sure...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

Well, I mean the Luma v7.1 Configuration screen, when you boot up the system holding Select. After I hit Start to accept the configurations and reboot, it just black screens on me..is there a way to restore through this configuration screen? This is how I have it configured: Screen brightness...

Hacking n3DSxl Only Boots To GodMode9, Nothing Else

Hey guys, got another weird one here. I recently got my hands on a New 3DS XL that initially only booted to GodMode9 using an SD card that only had an "arm9loaderhax_si.bin" file and a "ctrnand_full.bin.xorpad" file on the root of the SD card. It would not boot to Luma, the stock 3DS system...

Hacking A9LH Update / Restore Issue

Well, I just want to thank everyone here to holding my hand through this. I updated to 11.4, got boot9strap installed, along with all the homebrew .cia's I had before, and restored all my tickets, so all my titles are back on the home screen. I do have to sort all this crap out again, which...

Hacking A9LH Update / Restore Issue

The SD card was backed up recently before this, I didn't think to backup the NAND, because I just assumed it was simply the system software version on it, like PS3 or iOS or something, I didn't realize entire databases were tied to it Also, should I just start fresh and follow the bootstrap...

Hacking A9LH Update / Restore Issue

Ok, cool, appreciate all the help fellas, I suppose I have my work cut out for me. To avoid this happening again in the future, what exactly can I back up to prevent something like this? or does it not really matter if I update anymore.

Is there any benefit to being on 11.2 vs 11.4?

Hacking A9LH Update / Restore Issue

Ok, so bear with me, please, because I'm still pretty dense and confused here. Let's say I update to 11.4 using the Official Nintendo Update Method (right?), I'll still (probably?) have to find an entry point to somehow get into Homebrew Launcher (?) after I find this "TikShop" program, and...

Hacking A9LH Update / Restore Issue

Is there a way to update to just 11.3 as far as you know? Like I mentioned earlier, I do have the 11.3 update files ready to be used if possible. I'm not sure why I'm so reluctant to be on 11.4, but I guess it's just because everything was working so perfectly on 11.3, and "if it ain't broke"...
