Homebrew Emulator TurboGrafx-16 and Genesis VC emulator CD compatibility?

First off, I apologize if this is the wrong subforum, since what I’m asking about is technically the capabilities of packed-in 3DS software functionality rather than homebrew software, but, to cut to the chase, can the Nintendo 3DS TurboGrafx-16 and unused Genesis Virtual Console emulators run...

Homebrew [New 3DS] VC inject troubleshooting help?

Thanks for the response! And, I did! But unless there's some hidden, more complete version (or I'm somehow looking at the wrong page), the lists of titles that have been checked for compatibility are pitifully small for every console but the GBA- and the PCE VC emulator is just flat-out...

Homebrew [New 3DS] VC inject troubleshooting help?

I just recently installed CFW (should be the latest version; I just did it yesterday) on my New 3DS, and decided to try setting up some Virtual Console injects now that I have the ability to do so. The thing is, only ten of them seem to have installed correctly, two installed very weirdly, and...

Hacking [Supercard 4in1 DSTWO Plus] MicroSD Card No Longer Recognized by Windows 10

So, about a month ago, I decided I wanted to add more DS games to my Supercard 4in1 DSTWO Plus, only to find that my computer wouldn't recognize the MicroSD card at all. As in, it wouldn't even acknowledge that there was an SD card inserted at all. This is not an issue of my computer not...

I understand this is an extremely specific question, but I was wondering what hair color value is assigned to Anankos in Fire Emblem Fates' Heirs of Fate DLC? A VERY old post mentions that AID_ハイドラ consists of Dwyer's head model and "#211" hair... but #211 isn't a valid six-digit hex color code...

    Homebrew OOThax 11.7.0-40U payloads??

Here's an N3DS_U_29697_usa_9221 powersave, if this works for you! I understand that apparently different versions of OoT3D within a region may need different saves... or something like that. This is the save I created using the exploit installer, and I can confirm that it works on a New 3DS...

Homebrew Getting OoT3DHax working on New 3DS 11.7.0-40U

OKAY I am a fool and somehow totally blanked on the fact that I had access to Ninjhax. I guess I thought it wouldn't work for this, since last I used it it couldn't run JKSV properly, but the OoT3DHax installer worked just fine, so... Thanks for the help, regardless!

Homebrew Getting OoT3DHax working on New 3DS 11.7.0-40U

Ahhh, I see! I believe I actually have the files I'd need to do that, but I can't use my 3DS for any part of the process, for reasons mentioned in the OP. Is there any way to create a functioning powersave using just a PC?

Homebrew Getting OoT3DHax working on New 3DS 11.7.0-40U

So, apparently OoT3DHax is still working on 11.7.0-40U firmware, but I'm having trouble getting the homebrew launcher to actually boot. I have downloaded the latest otherapp and ropbin files and placed them at the root of my SD card, and I also have the latest boot.3dsx. Everything seems to work...

    Homebrew SNES9x for Old 3DS

I've been attempting to play Final Fantasy IV using snes9x 1.30, and while it mostly runs fine, there's a very strange graphical issue with the inventory screen: This issue does not occur when playing the game using snes9x ver. 1.53/1.55 on PC, and adjusting the rendering options of the 3DS...

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Sorry for asking a question that probably has an obvious answer, but is there any way to modify a piece of software without breaking the private key's signature? Unless it's somehow checking the entire program file—which I doubt would be doable on the fly within any reasonable time frame for...

ROM Hack FE Fates USA: Custom Playable Characters DLC

Ahhh, thanks! I ask because I was thinking about reclass options for the Cipher DLC characters (I take it the official versions have none beyond other DLC classes), and while Lucina already has a defined set of three classes, and Minerva has obvious choices for her other two (Wyvern Rider for...

ROM Hack FE Fates USA: Custom Playable Characters DLC

Thanks! As a final question to whoever knows the answer, can characters be given innate reclass sets larger than three classes, or is three the limit for that? I know classes can be added to their reclass set mid-playthrough, but I don't know if those are recorded differently since I don't...

ROM Hack FE Fates USA: Custom Playable Characters DLC

Thanks! Although, maybe I'm just totally clueless about how these file structures are set up, but is there some reason it wouldn't work to just copy the relevant AID bits from the amiibo versions of the characters? Also, I'm still curious as to whether the DLC will still work when the game is...

ROM Hack FE Fates USA: Custom Playable Characters DLC

My apologies if this is a stupid question, but I was curious; patches won't load if you don't boot the game through homebrew, but is the same true of custom DLC? Like, once I have the custom DLC installed and set up, could I boot the game normally and still have the characters from it, or would...

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

So there is no method whatsoever through which one can boot a custom Virtual Console game in a vanilla 3DS running environment? Does it not matter if the software is a modification of one that you legally purchased?

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

At the risk of repeating myself... with regard to this topic, (which I just checked again more thoroughly and now I feel silly) would one need any special homebrew software to boot a ROM injected into a retail Virtual Console game?

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Oh, yeah, I'm aware. I'm not interested in playing actual Wii U games on my 3DS. Despite both systems supporting NES Virtual Console games—and the New 3DS also supporting SNES Virtual Console games—the Wii U eShop has many NES games in its Virtual Console lineup that are not part of the 3DS's...

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

I see. I'm not interested in using a homebrew emulator, though. What I want is to essentially make my own Virtual Console port that works exactly the same way official Virtual Console releases do, right down to the circumstances in which the game can be booted up. Again, it doesn't have to be...

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Ahhh, alright. Would I still need to boot the games through a homebrew app to play them, or would I be able to start them up the same way as a "legitimate" Virtual Console game?

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
