    You know that rubber sticker stuff on the edge of the screen? I took that out and did some sanding on the battery compartment and now it works!

    It should work fine without soldering, it will just be on the dim setting, but if it's a 101 model the dim setting is pretty bright on its own.

    Any older consol I buy I always buy broken. Its cheaper and I get good at fixing them. I got a 3ds xl in rough shape.     I have this same problem on a wii u I got off eBay. I've replaced the disk drive and it still has the error. It must be a problem with the motherboard or something.
