Homebrew UPDATE: Regarding the recent 3DS banwave

was a N3DS XL too right? If my memory serves, 2 years ago was right in the middle of the whole "9.2 max hackable" thing, when we couldnt even UPDATE emunand past 9.5 on a N3DS, so you are probably right.

Homebrew UPDATE: Regarding the recent 3DS banwave

Walmart has generally gotten better about refusing to accept returns on opened video game hardware, but it is still possible that someone bought a system, dumped the seed and returned it, then used the seed on their own system and later got banned, resulting in a ban for the poor dude who bought...

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if this is what they are using.

Homebrew UPDATE: Regarding the recent 3DS banwave

Tbh that is what it seems like. Sony did something similar with the PS3 where they were checking for certain syscalls (among other things that people STILL aren't 100% sure on), which makes going online with a CFW PS3 an extremely risky task. Even more so since Sony banned both the console AND...

Homebrew UPDATE: Regarding the recent 3DS banwave

This is quite likely to be the case. There is a good chance we will see more bans going on Monday or Tuesday (depending on if its the NA office handling the bans or the JP office).

Homebrew UPDATE: Regarding the recent 3DS banwave

There is likely more to it than that because I have used freeshop to download a game AND its dlc and still have not been banned (knock on wood).

Homebrew UPDATE: Regarding the recent 3DS banwave

Haven't actually used my 3ds in over a month or so, but I have installed titles using freeshop (though not Pokemon or Fire Emblem). Updating to 11.4 now to see if I am banned (can't access the friends list on 11.3, and using something like ctrhttp-pwn to do it seems like a bad idea atm) No ban...

Hacking Confused aboutTickets for backing up games that I own

Yeah I meant haxchi or another cfw/sigpatch thing. Was half asleep and somehow left it out of the post >_> So assuming I installed it to the internal storage, I should be able to run the game like normal after booting the console just as if I had legitimately bought it off of the eshop?

Hacking Confused aboutTickets for backing up games that I own

So, I am still a little confused myself. Supposed I have a game I own on disc but I wish to dump it and install to internal storage. Obviously I use disc2app and WUP Installer to dump and install the game. My question at this point (and I assume OPs as well) is this: Do I need to run haxchi...

Hacking HELP ACESSING ESHOP IN 10.7

https://gbatemp.net/threads/ctr-httpwn.441631/ https://gbatemp.net/threads/ctr-httpwn-not-working.443357/ Are you using MenuHax as your entry point for the home menu? If so that would appear to be the problem (you cannot use CTR-HTTPWN with MenuHax because MenuHax prevents you from cleanly...

Hacking HELP ACESSING ESHOP IN 10.7

As long as the URLs used by the eshop to access the CDN haven't changed since 10.7 (I don't think they have anyways). The problem might be that yls8's server is down (and has been for over a week afaik) and from reading the exploit details for CTR-HTTPWN it appears to contact his server to check...

    Hacking Would This Work?

Depends on the software you are using. Most archive software has an option for no compression though. Its usually under the compression level settings and will be something along the lines of "0", "store", "archive", "none"

    Hacking Would This Work?

Try doing the same without compression. Just use "store". If that doesnt work, try this: Make a copy of the vpk (for safety in case something goes wrong). Copy all of the data files (everything except the three I mentioned yesterday) to an empty folder on your computer. Delete everything from...

    Hacking Would This Work?

If you have 7zip installed, you can right-click on the vpk file and under "7-Zip" you should see various options for extracting/opening the file.

    Hacking Would This Work?

huh, that is a bit odd. sys_module contants the various .suprx files that the game has to load (think DLL files from windows) in order to run properly, and sce_sys contains (among other things) the param.sfo file that tells the system various information about the application being installed...

    Hacking Would This Work?

Basically what this guy said: Iirc, you specifically need to leave the following in the vpk file: /sce_module/ /sce_sys/ /eboot.bin Also leave all subfolders inside those folders in the vpk. Place all the other data inside a folder you can find later and then send the vpk over and install...

    Hacking Memory card failure/corruption

So I got everything (I HOPE!) backed up and formatted the card. Reinstalled Henkaku, Vitashell 1.2 and Maidumptool v233.2zEx and Tales of Hearts R is dumping on the first run. Looks like a format fixed whatever sort of corruption my card was experiencing at that time. Unfortunately it does seem...

    Hacking Would This Work?

Should work. Alternatively you could use a mai dump of the game which doesnt need 2x the space for install, or the vpk install method where you install the modules and eboot via vpk and then copy the data over with ftp.
