Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

I figured it out. I neglected to paste the binary to the CTRNAND folder in the main directory of FBI. Thank you to everyone who helped me!

Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

I'm on section Vi, step 20 on https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax. When I try to reboot without the SD card inserted, nothing happens. The power light blinks on and then back off. Step 21 was already completed earlier in the process at section III, step 2. I don't really understand what...

Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

Sweet. The whole reason it wasn't working is because I'm illiterate and I put the two dat files into the files9 directory, not root. Yay for reading comprehension!

Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

Is it not uncommon to have to try the browser hack a dozen or so times? Should I try another SD card?

Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

I did. I got up to the decrypt9 part already. Verified that my SD card was MBR and I checked it for errors. I'm on an original XL with firmware between 7.0 and 8.0 and I have a browser.

Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

I keep getting "an error has occurred" on the first step of trying execute decrypt9 through the browser. I've tried all four links in the guide and have cleared the savedata as well.

Thank you guys for the thorough replies. I'm going to attempt to understand it all and give it a swing!

Hacking Firmware question re: Pkmn Moon.

I intentionally keep my systems on the oldest firmware as possible. My 3dsXL is currently still on 7.2.0-14U, which I think A link between worlds forced me into. I got Pokemon Moon for xmas and it wants to update to 11.0.0-14U. I'm not currently using any CFW or flashcards (frankly the 3ds...

    Cleaning GBC audio?

I gave it a once over and all of the board components looked quite good. Is the sound chip the small area with the button cell sized round black cylinder that's on its own separate board adjacent to the speaker? If so, I'll touch up those joints too.

    Cleaning GBC audio?

I just bought a GBC, my first, and I've been messing around with it today. It's already had its capacitors replaced by the seller. I notice that even with the volume all the way down there is a lot of static and buzz coming from both the speaker (not loud, but that's understandable) and the...

Emulation Goomba on EZF4 for GB link trades?

Is it possible to use Goomba on a GBA flash cart to transfer pokemon from a GB cartridge? If so, is the save file then usable on a PC gameboy emulator? Thanks in advance.

    True scaling emulators?

Yeah I thought I addressed that. It probably sounds contradictory that I'm being stern about the pixel scale while allowing for the 4:3 correction, which does the exact same thing in the other direction. Well it's because when I first started playing with emulators in the 90s a lot of them...

    True scaling emulators?

An update if anyone cares: Higan set as standard will accomplish this goal for NES, GB, GBA, SNES. I just wish I could change palettes on the GB games. KEGA will do it with the video settings at Fixed Aspect (fit) for SMS, GG, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X. I still haven't found a PSX emulator...

    True scaling emulators?

Not achieving the 1080 height, but scaling to the largest it can. So for GBA it would be a 6x multiplier giving a 960 height + letter boxing. You don't notice the errors on a static screen, I'll give you that. But you can notice them scrolling. I'll agree that in most cases it's hard to...

    True scaling emulators?

Having only recently joined the world of HDTVs I've become acutely sensitive to screen stretching. Before that I played all of my older games on a pretty good SDTV. I've been searching for emulators that scale by integers not by stretching. Most people refer to the 4:3 to 16:9 stretching when...
