That was by design as the Atmosphere folks didn't want to encourage piracy. In reality almost everyone who uses Atmosphere pirates so it's pretty silly to not add full USB support as XCI loading was developed and worked years ago.
To manually have to install a game is kinda silly IMO.
A bummer but what can you do!
Now if I could only get it to be able to see a local hard disk to install games from.
That's frustrating me as I can't get it to recognize any usb drive (flash or a hard disk).
I tried this and everything works the same except SX Installer. Just get the title background but a blank screen when you run it.
I've checked on the same Switch and same microSD card but with the original SX OS boot.dat and license and SX Installer works fine.
Anyone else have this problem...
So I tested the SX OS Hack license generation on another Switch that I have the original license file for.
That one runs SX Installer with no problems and displays and mounts the xci files on an attached USB hard disk with no problems.
But when I generate and use the boot.dat and hacked...
Here's a short video that shows you can launch from XCI in Tinfoil 17 with SX OS 3.10

I can't get anything to access from USB. Nothing shows up. Not a hard disk or even a flash drive.
What do you have your...
Works fine for me.
XCI on root of SD card
Select XCI on left
Then select XCI and press X
I am running a 10.2 emunand with SX OS 3.10.
Not sure if this works in Atmosphere.
Thanks, I will give that a try when I get home from work.
Also I forgot to say but from the Album you can see and play all the games on the hard disk.
Just can't see ANY folders from SX Installer so the USB is working.
So a weird problem.. the microSD on one of my kids Switches died and I can't where I saved the copy of the SX OS license.
I was able to successfully use the SX OS license generator and was able to boot into a 10.2 emunand.
Installed the SX Installer since the kids like playing from a hard disk...
Have an old v1 Switch modded with SXOS that I haven't used in a while but have a large game collection on my hard disk. Would like to play newer titles so I know I need to move to Atmosphere.
Is there any way to configure a microSD card to allow dual boot to either SXOS or Atmosphere? The...
Yes, none that work on my other Switch that has a valid SX OS License and are on 10.2 work.
For example the exact same "1-2-Switch" xci that is v0 does not work on the hacked SXOS Switch. It loads and shows up as if the cartridge was inserted and when run says an update is available but I...
Let me ask this differently - has anyone been able to run any xci or install and run an nsp with a hacked SX OS license?
I just get a black screen even though it boots and shows a hacked license.
Has anyone else had trouble with an XCI or installed NSP black screening with the Hack SXOS?
Used Atmosphere to downgrade from 13.0 to 10.2.
Really want to be able to run this docked with XCI's but may have to give up.
Any advice would be very welcome.
TIA!
Well got it working and downgraded via Atmosphere to 10.2.
Boots and looks like a normal SXOS Switch but when running an .xci I get a black screen.
Tried installing the game via the album installer but it still shows a black screen on launch.
Did I miss something to be able to launch XCI or...
Thanks!. Getting further...

Trying this for the first time since the sx site has been down for ages.
Have Python 3.9.7 installed and followed all steps but the boot.dat and license.dat do not get created.
Once I click on the SX_License_Hack python file a command window appears briefly and then disappears.
Is there any...
jokes aside, anyone else who saw the northern lights tonight, what did you think, i thought they were beautiful for a while, before it went to a vague pink
maybe later they'll pick up again
