    You need to go from kiosk mode to stock with that vpk. Make sure to leave it plugged in. That's what negates the 5 minute time limit.

    I don't think you have to put all data in the rom image. You could have a small rom image and data like assets outside the rom itself. I think you'll need a flash cart with on the fly patching though. TwilightMenu on the 3ds should also be able to do it.

    although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)

    If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
