@Chary how much is the delivery charge? I was thinking that delivery is usually a convenience, and if you can afford the luxury of having something delivered then you can afford the tip. But I suppose if you can’t afford a vehicle then delivery might be your only option for big grocery orders or...
@leon315 but how can you think it’s as simple as asking your employer for a higher wage? Jobs that require tips are pretty much all entry-level jobs, so you’re easily replaced. You have no leverage to just get more money. You need the tips.
Agreed. It’s completely asinine that restaurants don’t pay their employees a decent wage, but as long as that’s the shitty situation they’re stuck in and they’re expecting tips to make ends meet, it’s unjustifiable to stiff them. I’d love for there to be a better system but there’s nothing else...
The first thing I heard about Cobra Kai was that it "wasn't afraid to be politically incorrect." I didn't think much of it at the time--the person I heard this from was known to be particularly anti-PC and I assumed if it really crossed any serious lines, I'd have heard about some kind of...
@Scott_Pilgrim Look as long as we're talking about how good the trans flag looks, and it does look good, I gotta throw in a bid for the bi pride flag. I like the more muted colours and using three colours that are so close on the spectrum is nice. No disrespect to trans people but the bisexuals...
@Chary On the flip side, I love when big dogs forget they aren’t puppy-sized anymore. There are two ~70-80lb Labrador Retrievers in my life who try to sit in my lap the way they did when they were pups. It’s definitely painful for me but it also looks really painful for them, trying to sleep...
Sorry for your loss. I had a dog I got when I was 5, and lost her at 16, and I had a similar situation with her as you did with Nopey. More than any other member of my family, she helped stave off loneliness, and made me feel normal and loved. Dogs are special and really great at that. It’s not...
I’m super excited for The Good Life. Before Deadly Premonition 2 was actually announced, that felt like SWERY trying to recapture that kind of gameplay style (albeit with a way different tone, from the looks of things). I backed that day one on Kickstarter and can’t wait for it
Joe Pera Talks With You is one of the strangest shows of the past two years. Joe Pera plays a fictional version of himself as a man in his mid-30s, but he carries himself with a distinctly grandfatherly manner. He speaks slowly and deliberately, he has a little hump in his posture, and he mostly...
I’m really sorry this happened. Like Jordan said, the love you and your dad shared is so obvious in the way you talk about him and it’s touching to hear. I wish things could have gone better for you. Stay strong man.
Thanks for everything you’ve done for the community. You’ve always been a dream to work for, and I’ve seen you demonstrate more patience and professionalism than most would in your position. You’ll be missed.
Comic books, similar to TV shows of old, get a lot of flak for their production cycle that never ends. If a character has a new book every month, in perpetuity, how can there be a defined beginning, middle and end to their story? How can they grow and change if the book just needs to keep going...
Back in the early 2000s, the reality TV landscape was pretty different. Instead of getting a peak into the lives of celebrities or certain vocations (with plenty of contrived drama), they focused on regular people isolated into some kind of competition, with immunity challenges and eviction...
As some of you may have noticed, a certain game has released recently that’s caused quite a stir over its depiction of LGBT people. I haven’t played either Last of Us game, and haven’t followed the story behind the game closely enough to have any thoughts on Neil Druckmann and co., so I’m not...
My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer two years ago, but as I understand it, colon cancer is relatively easy one to catch and isolate. They were able to quickly perform surgery to remove the cancerous part of his colon and he’s doing fine now.
It’s still scary though. I understand that feeling...
