Certain of it, as I used the advanced restart option from Windows settings.

Although now I think it's my fan or something connected to it. Took apart my laptop and noticed the fan wasn't running

Yeah, check the other hardware is okay, and check for ANY signs of life when you turn it on.

Try taking out the cmos battery?

My battery is directly wired to the mobo, so it's not exactly fun trying to get it out...

@Jackus there is life for sure... Only thing I noticed while disassembling it was that the fan never started... My grandpa helped me disassemble it, and he's considering just getting a gaming computer. Wew

If the laptop is old then probably the motherboard is just dead.
What happens when you turn on the laptop

Heheh... laptop is 13 months old.
When turned on, the hard drive makes noises (which is normal), the backlight turns on (and keeps a blank screen), and the fan does nothing.

Sending messages via Spider is painful...

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that when I remove the power ribbon from the mobo, the backlight doesn't turn on

And holding F2 does nothing, when it usually does BIOS
