Please go to the GodMode9 Scripts Megathread instead: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-godmode9-scripts-megathread.482150/

Here are a couple more GM9 scripts for you script-happy users that use gba virtual console.

WHAT THESE DO

Backup gbavc.sav.gm9 backs up your current gbavc.sav from S:/gbavc.sav to 0:/gm9/out/gbavc.sav.
(It
WILL overwrite any current gbavc.sav in the output directory!)

Restore gbavc.sav.gm9 restores gbavc.sav from 0:/gm9/out/gbavc.sav to S:/gbavc.sav.
(It will fail if gbavc.sav is not in the correct directory.)
(Only restore your save if it is to the last gba vc you launched)
(Make sure that your gbavc.sav is still 64KB before restoring it.)

Very useful script especially for anyone who doesn't know how to use Godmode9 for things like this. It makes it into a mindless task, I'm defintely using this! Yet another useful script

Just remember folks, gba.sav IS the last game you've played. You have to launch the GBA VC game you want to import the save for. I know this was mentioned in the OP, just wanted to repeat it : p

Does one, put this script in the script folder, hold start with booting the 3ds, and run the script with god9> I have never used G9 other then when installing CFW..

What about Pokemon games? Leaf Green saves 128kb so it fails to restore the save from my actual cartridge.
Pokemon roms need to be patched to properly save in the 64kb format for virtual console.
Here's what I recommend doing:
1) Make a save with your (Save patched!) Leaf green virtual console
2) Dump the gbavc.sav And move that to your computer
3) Open the gbavc.sav and leaf green cartridge save in a hex editor
4) Copy over the relative 64kb of data from your cartridge save into the 64kb gbavc.sav. (Overwrite it)
5) Reimport the rewritten gbavc.sav
6) Profit

Does one, put this script in the script folder, hold start with booting the 3ds, and run the script with god9> I have never used G9 other then when installing CFW..
Yes, you place these script files in SD:/gm9/scripts
And then to use them, press and hold start while booting to launch godmode9, then press the home button, select more..., then scripts..., and then lastly you choose which script(s) to run.

How to transfer a .sav from a gbavc to a patched gbavc?

Hi. I started FFVI with an original ROM and after a few hours of ears bleeding I found out that there is a patch with the snes music.
I then created a patched .cia from the same rom and want to transfer my .sav but gm9 won't let me.

I can dump both .sav. They're both 32k btw. They've got different names since the patched .cia is not recognised as the original. Tried to rename it, didn't help.

Is it due to the .sav size? The different .cia? What should I do?

Thanks
