Here we go again :glare:
Yes, again. It's a slighty underclocked shield tv slaped on a portable screen, minus the android os and one more gb of ram (which benefits itself over the shield tv). Why people care much about it? Dunno, maybe because the nintendo logo is slaped on it too.

I bought the Shield portable and it was bad. I'm glad the design for Switch is much smarter. Also, Shield TV isn't portable, so that's a moot point. It also runs Android, which is decent for old emulators but terrible for modern gaming.

There's nothing else like Switch on the market, no matter how you try to reason it out. Closest would be GPD Win, and that's far more clunky (Windows 10 on such a small screen), plus it's about half the power of Switch at the most.

Yeah, joycons are actually controllers, Wiimotes were more like TV remotes, thus the namesake I guess.

in resume, joycons are wiimotes on steroids, and yeah, and they better add AIM with the joycons, ala Splatoon, preferably. Which sometimes makes me think the Switch is a camera to another dimension. anyway, I am glad the multiplayer is OPTIONAL since I kinda don't have time for that (I'd play it but y know, real life & stuff)

Ah.
I was hoping for those stupid graphic/FPS whores to show up.
Surely was not disappointed.

Jesus fucking christ guys, could you stop being so fucking entitled with graphics and fps?
I don't give a shit if fps is 30 or 60, or if it's in 4k or 720p, all I care about is that the game plays and looks nice, without hiccups and providing the same experience in terms of gameplay as other versions.

I for once am happy that the Switch is getting not only Doom but Wolfy 2 as well.
I might be picking them both up because I don't own a PC with the fucking obnoxious requirements to play last gen stuff.

So please, avoid the negative bullshit.
Don't like that it runs on 720p 30fps undocked?
Well go play it somewhere else and shut the fuck up.

Thank you.

The fact to you talk about it having the same gameplay experience as the others but yet not caring about fps which is also a factor that affects gameplay as a whole...

Yes, the game as a qhole is the same, but no, a 30 fps experience =/= a 60 fps one. Funny that docked mode is also locked at 30, not to mention the very noticiable frame drops on undocked mode...

Yeah, is doom on the go so i give you a point on that, but it will never plays the same as the other versions...

come on :/

I like how you conveniently ignore the fact that both PS4 and XB1 also run certain games at 30 FPS. The only way you're guaranteed to get a solid 60 FPS from everything is by building a gaming PC. You obviously don't expect portables to perform on that same level, or you wouldn't own a 3DS.

And like how you conveniently talk about others games which i never mentioned, because this thread is about doom, isnt it? Doom is 60fps on the others platforms, even 144 on a pc.

How people defends this thing is beyond me... i would have accepted a notorious graphical downgrade in exchange of 60fps, but did you know that bethesda is also appealing to graphics whores by presenting doom on switch "as beautifuly as in the other platforms"?

I have played games both in 30fps and 60fps, even the same kind of game for comparison sake, and I don't see any real difference in the overall game unless you're some pro strats speedrunner that depends on frame perfect movements.

Only difference is reaction time, that's it, you have a wider frame to react, but that still depends on user input and response.

Really, people make it out to be more important than it should be.
Besides, the game's not out yet until December, they still have two and a half months to work on it or even give more info about it, this could all change.

There's being a technical achievement but frankly, it's going to be hard to convince people to pay full price for an inferior version of Doom. Portability is cool but is overrated.

COmparison tot he Vita's visual is pretty redundant considering, the Vita was five years old when the Switch was released. It would have been an achievement to not outdo the Vita.

For some people, portability is a major factor. I for one have only used my Switch docked only a handful of times. I would much rather have 720p30 then no game at all, which is what the Wii U always had.

TBH we still don't know for sure what the final port will look like, it might actually be 60 FPS docked. Even if it isn't, I like the idea of a custom-made port for Switch over super low details for 60 FPS. Trying to spin that into a negative is ridiculous. Your opinion is not everybody's opinion. Obviously. That's why Switch sells like a motherfucker.

The graphics on the footage looked very good.

I'm curious about how responsive will be the controls at 30fps compared to 60fps, also, if the game is running at 720p portable mode ¿where's all the power going when docked?

The higher the cartridge storage the higher it costs to the devs. That's why switch devs are compressing the shit out of their games and leaving features or parts of the games outside of the cartridges...

Switch tax you know...

Id not say devs but publishers. Im willing to bet most of the shenanigans in the gaming industry are do to the publishers... Im wondering how much it actually costs for say 1 million 32gb switch carts. I support the indis when they release their game on physical...
