you can still charge your joycons when playing in docked mode by either getting the joy con charging grip or the joy con battery pack

how can you charge when your joycons have to be connected to the tablet to charge..... so how would you play docked.

ohh and here is additional expense nintendo pass onto the customer to do something they lacked to think about.

or, like i said, if theyre soo innovative, then how is it things other devices are able to do, people use, nintendo dont do it..... probably to cut costs so they can keep its profits high selling cheap hardware.

but again, if streaming a pc to a switch is cool, then why isnt streaming switch to tv and being able to charge it at the same time.

I know i would stream because it would solve the crappy design flaw of the joycon disconnecting.

Oh Jesus christ. Everytime I read your posts I want to slap the person sitting next to me.

Thats how you charge without connecting to the tablet. Read each word carefully.

To be fair, the joycons can hold a 20 hour charge iirc. So unless the OP is gonna do a 24 hour marathon stream of Zelda or something, they really don't need to get anything extra. And if you really need to you could just get the joycon battery extenders. Sure it's an extra expense, but I really dont see anyone needing them unless they're too lazy to put their controllers back on their switch. Also the joycon disconnection issue was fixed iirc. Plus the joycons have the best battery life compared to the stock dualshock 4(I can't even get eight hours out of mine) and the stock Xbox one controller still takes double A batteries unless you buy a play n charge kit.

and like in the post you quoted, something nintendo failed to see, passes expense onto the consumer.

unless you pay more. then like i said is true, you can not charge and play can you.

if this tablet was modern and streamed to your tv, then you dont need to buy anything extra do you.

god i swear nintendo lovers are so blinded to anything bad said.

this is what takes threads like this ott, nintendo fans are like sheep.

well i guess my switch is defective then, had no luck reporting them to nintendo, so have reported them and waiting 8 more days for nintendo to respond to them.

when i was using it to play zelda, my left joycon did not hold charge for 20 hours, it would last aprox 4 hours, the right joycon however seemed ok.

but again if the tablet was up to date, not only would this allow you to charge/play like stated it would also resolve the disconnection problems.

and no the disconnection issues are not fixed if when reporting it to nintendo they keep telling you to email the pr email address (who havent replied PERIOD)....

PS4 controllers yea last me about 8 hours but this i hate because it could be increased if sony fucked that light off.

My XBX1 controller came as default with a built in battery, maybe this was a bundle the store did.

I tried docking the console in my family's cabin because we've got a 12v TV connected to the solar panel powered battery bank but when I connected the hori car charger to the dock I got a message saying I should connect an official Nintendo charger. Maybe the chip in the dock detects voltage, maybe not but I have zero problems even playing in handheld mode while charging with the hori charger. It charges the Switch super fast and I'm loving it. Going back up later today. Just mentioning it in case anyone are curious enough.

Amazing how Retroboy seems to be such a unique special individual,

he has flawless PlayStation remote play despite it being notoriously terrible, and it is
(a quick Google search can easily confirm),

joycons that have at least 4x less battery life than every single owner out there, being the only person I've heard of where charging joycons has actually been an issue
(a quick Google search can easily confirm, most reviewers and testers have found it impossible to even stay awake gaming long enough to deplete),

a faulty joycon Nintendo refuse to fix despite it being well documented that they do
(a quick Google search can easily confirm),

along with being the only Switch owner I've ever heard of that thinks streaming to a pc is more beneficial than streaming from it!

completely ignores video compression and latency issues with tablet game streaming without paying for extra hardware to offset slightly or the amazing cost difference between say an IPAD+apple tv and a Switch with shitter ios games,

and all this from his Switch he has had in storage since April no less, completely hates and yet still hangs out daily on a Switch forum!!

What an absolute tool.

He just craves attention, and aims for these kinds of reactions because it's far easier then being someone that people want to actually hang out with and be friends with. If he actually believes anything he's spouting then there's no hope for us to break through whatever mental issues he has; he clearly doesn't respond correctly to shaming and criticism, which may lead to major issues when he has to enter the workforce. You can try reporting him again to see if mods will ban him, but really jut add him to your ignore list and move on. You'll be far happier.

If Retroboy is reading this (which I doubt, as he probably added me to his ignore list long ago), then I just have this to say to him:
This is a video game console, and this is an international forum. Not only is your constant hostility unwarranted, but your stories and claims often do not match up with anyone else's personal experience. It may be culturally appropriate in your region or friend group to fling shit talk around like water, but to us all that does is hold you and your claims in very low esteem - and induces a hostile reaction in people who normally are far more polite. Yes, a few of your claims are reasonable, but many contradict what everyone else's experiences have been with the console. If you only had a couple of those issues then that would be just considered an odd fluke, but the fact that you seem to have every single issue conceivable with the Switch heavily implies either user error or pollycock. Admittedly if I accept prejudice then user error seems pretty plausible, as I've read several articles that indicate the United Kingdom can be pretty technophobic - as in taking the stance that technology should be feared and hated, not understood and accounted for. Thus, I have to conclude that everything boils down to you not having a clear understanding of what the Switch is or how it and it's underlining technology functions and is limited by - instead you're somehow defaulting to whining and complaining as if doing so will change things. No doubt several of your issues could be resolved by taking better care of the console (putting the Joy-cons away when not in use, keeping dirt and grime away from it, making sure that there are no dense obstacles between your controllers and the console, using a surge protector if your home electricity is erratic, and calling Nintendo's tech support hotline directly using the phone number printed on the manual. Reading the manual front to back may help too.

amazing how nintendo folk lack the ability to read..... and majority only see playstation, maybe this is because PS do better at providing a wide selection of games and guranteed better third party titles nintendo keep promising.

when i remote play to my laptop or vita i dont notice any problems, unless as stated my ISP is running like crap.

If it was like the PS3 and was a back of crap then i would say it as it is.....

I think someone to sit there and say use google to be some sort of defence is just a joke, google is a search engine that will even pull up fake shite news.

as for faulty joycons, it can be documented as much as it likes, the fact is they refused to arrange a repair for mine and here just because i know you nintendo folk will still refuse to accept..... ILL COPY AND PASTE THEIR EMAIL TELLING ME TO REPORT MY FAULT BY EMAILING THEIR PR EMAIL ADDRESS!!

So when this is what they keep replying, tell me how this is Nintendo fixing its fuckups?

And the rest I cant be arsed with so will just add that reason I come to this thread to simply to point out the lacking of the so called promise of better third party so to warn the person that it may end up being a console with nothing to play.

Maybe problem is that you fans dont like someone who doenst bend over for nintendo, maybe you dont like that as a gamer i want games to play, not indy shovelware..... I have a mobile/tablet for that.

Im sure you wont accept the email above either, if you like pm me your email ill forward it to you.... im sure still youd refuse to accept it.

then wonder why theres hate for them, they dont provide games i want, they dont provide support to fix shit they deliberately ignored just to rush its cheap ass console out.

Retroboy,

This is a video game console, and this is an international forum. Not only is your constant hostility unwarranted, but your stories and claims often do not match up with anyone else's personal experience. You've constantly claimed Nintendo is personally responsible for your every issue, and called everyone who countered that blind and brainwashed. I don't know what you expect our responses to be, but they only end up making us not like you and hold littel respect for you. Yes, a few of your claims are reasonable, but many contradict what everyone else's experiences have been with the console. If you only had a couple of those issues then that would be just considered an odd fluke, but the fact that you seem to have every single issue conceivable with the Switch heavily implies either user error or bullshit.

Honestly you come across as fairly techno phobic, as if you're convinced that the console should be reacting in a very specific way and it's Nintendo's personal fault that it does not function the way you think it should. It seems you're whining and complaining as if doing so will change things, as opposed to taking the time to understand the abilities and limits of the Switch and it's tech. I suspect several of your issues could be resolved by taking better care of the console; such as putting the Joy-cons away when not in use, keeping dirt and grime away from it, making sure that there are no dense obstacles between your controllers and the console, using a surge protector if your home electricity is erratic, and calling Nintendo's tech support hotline directly using the phone number printed on the manual. something people miss is that opinions blah blah, i post a problem as advice or even comment to a topic then comes the fanboys to defend.

if they didnt quote with how they insist i am wrong, thus voiding opinions, then i wouldnt be quoting back.

end of the day nint4endo fans have always been the same and its amusing.

i simply copy pasted here now my email off nintendo, just to counter that fan who insisted it was all made up.

nintendo are far from the company i used to love MANY years ago.

i am just glad i never paid for this, if it wasnt a gift i would have never purchased it for this exact reasons that its having now.

you all may love playing old ports and shovelware indy games and the same nintendo titles.... good for you.

i want (like others) something new, the option to play the new titles third parties are releasing.

you can find a good 80-90% of third party titles the other systems get, never come to nintendo.

so its ok to have old ports because of its portability.

but its not ok to have the option to play the new AAA third party titles because its on other systems.....

recall when i say nintendo fans contradict all the time to defend nintendo?

well, using the portability logic for the old third party titles..... where is it when it comes to new titles?

FLAWED... PROOF that nintendo fans will instantly deny anything negative.

but to put it back to the topic, to the guy wanting the switch, just be warned that its a cheap over priced system with flaws and lacking support.

and you may say its only a few months old, look back at nintendo since the N64, its support has gotten worse and worse.

I am talking from past experiences here, if they offered what i want then i wouldnt be saying the crap i do now.

end of the day, to dislike something there has to be reasons.... this just makes it worse that nintendo refuse to repair their cheap shite joycons.

I read as far as "Nintendo folk" and switched off, didn't bother to read the rest.

@Retroboy My main console is a PS4, currently I'm enjoying FFXII Zodiac far more than I thought I would as I hated the original. I'm no "Nintendo fanboy" period.

This is neither here nor there, I don't disagree with you because I'm some sort of Nintendo super fan, I own ps4, XBOX one, Vita etc etc.

I disagree with you because you are completley off your trolley full of shit.

Remote play is shit, limited to 720p and latency is through the roof. No matter your isp. I know this through a combination of personal experience and research.

Joycons last longer charged than any other controller on the market. So long in fact it would be almost impossible to run them out, I know this through a combination of personal experience and research.

Tablet games streamed to your TV are shit. Period. Full of latency and compressed video I know this through a combination of personal experience and research.

You are full of shit.

You're some sort of narcissistic troll who believes the world revolves around his wants and needs and desires like some petulant toddler in a toy shop stamping his foot and throwing his new present on the floor cos mummy won't buy him a Lego castle.

You're a fucking arse deliberately stalking online forums to cause dissent and piss people off.

You're a troll. And you're full of shit. Why don't you just fuck off back to your Sony fanboy forums where you belong you shitty little man baby.

Fuck you very much.

I dont check my thread for less than 24 hours and people are arguing. Hooray for creating chaos!
My advice, ignore any shit about joycon charging and pc streaming, that's just the troll desperately trying to cause shit.
Joycons last forever and the dock is 10x better than any streaming could be.
Voice chat is the only legitimate thing I've heard him say in 6 months, and he doesn't dwell on that cos it's no fun when people agree.

it's interesting to see how he reacts to different things. I hold some hope that he has some sort of shred of self-awareness, and actually rewrote and reposted my comment because I thought I gained some insight into what kind of person he is. Sadly, it's clear that he is incapable of or unwilling to learn from his mistakes and find a way to get his point across in a more receptive manner. I still suspect that he's from the trashy part of Britain (and I visualize him as such).

In fact, I'm pretty sure he's in his 50's or so and is just bitter that the world has passed him by.

I personally think the way he acts and types point to a know it all 11 year old who won't accept when he's wrong or take into consideration another person's opinion. But I also like your vision of him.

He has to be at minimum 35, if he still thinks the N64 is the greatest thing ever. Either a baby boomer or shortly after. I would've suspect that he had a happier life during the N64 era when things were great but after the dotcom crash and today's... unbalanced conditions, his personal life is no where as enjoyable as it used to be, and he has associated those happy times with the games that were around and these unhappy times with the games that are out now.
