Hacking Is there a way for an M3 Ds simply to run on the 3ds?

I've been reading about how the r4 can work with the twl slot 1 launcher and the r4 stage 2 launcher. I know that the M3 simply was an r4 clone so I thought they would work the same way...

I tried the twl slot 1 launcher and it would give me the black screen with "error has occurred. Press and hold the power button..."

The slot 2 launcher would get me into a menu but nothing would show up...

I'm on 11.5 with b9s and Luma updated. I downloaded the woodr4launcher for the slot 2 one. Did I mix something up?

I just recommend NTR Launcher (no relationship with the cheating/memory viewer/screen streaming Chinese closed source tool)

You simply install that DSiware, run it, and whatever DS card is in slot-1 will start (unless the flashcard is bricked, extremely unlikely on your model, or the contacts are dirty) and it will start not differently than on a DS/Lite

Did you try R4CartLauncher_AnyKernel?

Thank you. Guess I'm using the wrong tools... I'll try those later after work. Friends of mine just discovered the ds generation after getting a 3ds and they might want to start playing old games with high compatibility. Just checking if I can keep up since I still had this lying around.

It does work. I have an M3 simply myself and it is very playable on my 2ds/N3ds. Try setting up the TWLoader again and use the latest nds bootstrap.

What size of micro SD card are you using?

I'll look around for another 2gb card to test it on but I'm quite sure the one I was using is still viable.It needs a 32kb cluster reformatting right? I'll try the TWL Loader and nds bootstrap. I didn't know they were also a flashcart solution. I thought they were used to run NDS files from the sd card.

How did you setup your memory card? I'm not sure if it's the actual flashcart that's broke but the memory card is readable and writable by the laptop... I used the WoodR4 1.62 files on it but TWLoader still says no cartridge detected. TWLoader has been installed with FBI (are there other files that need to be transfered or installed?) and I'm not quite sure where to place the ndsbootstrap files.

M3 DS Real is a completely different cart, it won't work.

The R4 Stage2 launcher from https://gbatemp.net/threads/r4-stage2-twl-flashcart-launcher-and-perhaps-other-cards-soon™.416434/ should work, since the carts are identical.
NTR Launcher might also work, it works with a lot of DS flashcarts but compatibility is not perfect.

I tried both suggestions already. No dice. But I can't be sure if I'm doing things wrong. I'd like to hear from those who have had their R4 / M3 Simply working already... I'll try the Stage 2 Launcher again later tonight.

I think you want 2GB SD card or lower in size, and try 16kb clusters

Awesome it's working now. Thanks everyone. I think it was a combination of a different memory card with the 16kb clusters newly reformatted and the WoodR4 launcher.
