Capture.JPG

"The GAME:PAD S PRO offers a premium, console experience for Switch owners. Ideal for playing at home, the GAME:PAD S PRO uses the same state-of-the-art Bluetooth connection as the Joy-Con controllers, ensuring full compatibility and a rock solid connection."

Full PR below:

snakebyte® group, leading innovators of consumer electronics hardware, announced today the launch of the Wireless GAME:PAD S PRO™, a superior quality, professional grade controller for us with Nintendo® Switch™ and one of the first third party wireless controllers to be available for the system.

Expected to begin shipping in Fall 2017, the Wireless GAME:PAD S PRO follows the recent announcement of a second wave of Switch compatible accessories from the hardware group and follows the Company’s tradition of being amongst the first to market with quality products for the Switch gamer. Designed to connect wirelessly to the Nintendo Switch using the same Bluetooth® technology as standard JoyCon™ controllers, the Wireless GAME:PAD S PRO offers the precision control of an authentic console game pad, without sacrificing the ease of connectivity and low-latency enjoyed by Switch owners. High-quality analog thumbsticks and digital d-pad combine with dual-vibration motors, delivering enhanced haptic feedback for the complete gaming experience. Switch owners will immediately appreciate the difference delivered by the high-performance build quality and familiar controller layout, while the integrated Capture Button allows players to snap their favourite moments in an instant!

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries charge the controller ultra-quickly and the Wireless GAME:PAD S PRO also features a user-assigned turbo function to add further customisation to gaming sessions.

“After its impressive start at retail, Nintendo Switch has continued to capture the imagination of gamers worldwide and snakebyte are excited to deliver a truly authentic console game pad for those serious about gaming performance,” said Nick Repenning, CEO for snakebyte USA. “snakebyte enjoyed a successful launch for the Switch thanks to being first to market with a range of quality peripherals for the console and we’re excited to build upon this success with the Wireless GAME:PAD S PRO, one of the first Bluetooth® controllers to launch, and a product that we believe enhances the Switch experience.”

In addition to the Wireless GAME:PAD S PRO, snakebyte will also be launching a wired version of the controller with the GAME:PAD S. Expected to ship alongside the wireless variant the wired controller is identical in build and design, connecting effortlessly to the USB socket of the Nintendo Switch, delivering premium performance for gamers not in need of a wireless connection.

I like the pro controllers d-pad what do you hate about it?

On another note, I don't think an item description that makes use of that many ":P" should be trusted.
that's actually GBATemp's emoji system screwing us out. Anyways, I seriously need to know if it has NFC capabilities.

Oh. Then I take that back.

My ProCon also has this annoying you-can-press-the-dpad-in-the-center problem, so I want to check myself if that is fixed in the funny colors Pro Con.

I don't think I have that problem, but I'm not home to check. :P

Probably not seeing as how the Nintendo reader used is probably patented.
Hmmm...if it's the case, then there is a Good chance it is cheaper, just add motion controls and it's all good!
o well, Better wait until release and see what it has to offer. I just hope they FIX the d-pad.
Looks painfully familiar and I prefer the xbox 360 d-pad or the Xbone d-pad. I mean, those designs aren't patented...or are they?

That looks decent, but I'm never buying another Snakebyte product again.
The universal USB charger (squid cable + power adapter) I got from them looked really cheap, and the power adapter started coming apart at the seams the first time I used it. Went to unplug it and it was literally coming apart in my hands, it went straight into the trash. Left me with a sour taste in my mouth and a strong impression that they just sell the cheapest of cheapo chinese crap.
Not only was it really cheap but it was downright unsafe to use. If I had been a small child using it to charge my 3DS or whatever, and it started coming apart like that, I might have gotten a nasty electric shock. They shouldn't be selling those things in stores here at all. If you look for 3DS chargers in stores here that's almost the only one you'll find, and since the n3DS doesn't come with a charger, there are probably a ton of kids that use these chargers on a daily basis. Makes me worry.
Anyway, I digress.

Just noticed, the first image shows both analog sticks on the bottom of the controller, DualShock 4-style:

But subsequent images show the joysticks staggered like the standard Pro Controller:

Could the first image be a mistake, or an alternate design?

Both images show the topmost control button being marked as "X", so it can't be a third-party PS4 or Xbox controller mistakenly posted.

The lower image also shows a Start and Select button in accordion to the +, -, and Home buttons. Weird...
Not even sure what to believe. Looking at reviews for their other game pads, I'll pass.

Looks decent, but I don't remotely trust the quality of 3rd party controllers.

Nice to see proper thumbstick placement unlike every crappy wii/u controller to date though. I'd almost consider getting it just for that.
Would be nice to have a price.

Protip: Bypass smiley BB code by putting text formatting tags between the emoticon.

Example:
Code:
:[b][/b]p
This will prevent smilies from being incorrectly inserted. ;)

But then which one's the actual design? Either way, doesn't look very good, and the official gamepad, while expensive, feels the best out of any controller I've used
