Hardware Can the fat PS3 run Persona 5?

Not sure if this is in the right thread, I apologize if it isn't.
Anyway, my question is just as it is in the title: Can the fat PS3 run P5?

I've wanted to get it for so long but have held off on buying since the guy at the store said it'll keep crashing/overheating.
Has anyone tried it? Is it alright?

Note that I have a PS3 fat that, last I remember, can't be jailbroken.

That guy was playing you. Simply put, he likely wanted you to buy a PS3 Slim so he'd get a commission and sale out of it.

Yeah, you can play it. There's no "PS3 Pro" games.

Are you buying from Databritz? I think they always say something on the line that if your tv is not this or your ps3 is not this, it will not run properly.
Some utter bs if you ask me. Just buy it and play it on your ps3, it will only crash or overheat if your ps3 has issues, not the game itself.

Played it on a fat CECHL PS3. Lil' n**** is almost 10 y.o. by now, ran Persona 5 perfectly.

Well all ps3 models are pretty much the same. Is not much difference except the first breed (I assume this fat one you speak of) has ps2 game compatibility for your ps2 disc. While the others do not. All ps3 games can play... all.... ps3 games...

I hate DB for telling that to people. When I bought Uncharted 3 from them they asked me what tv do I have and actually didn't want to sell me the item unless I tell what brand or model I have. They just said that if my tv is not hd or higher, it won't look good and stuff might happen. LOL
I just told them I have a 1080p hd monitor for gaming.

though there are games that can run shit on older renditions of a console out there somehow

I know this has been answered, but yes you can play it. However, if your drive is old, or your ps3 overheats too much you may see subtle slowdowns. My PS3 slim runs Persona 5 fine, but it does lag at times (in cities, some casino fight *no spoilers*, etc) I blame my drive though. By the way, every Ps3 Fat is downgradable. Some are NAND and some are NOR. NAND is way more difficult to downgrade though.

Streetwreck, all fat ps3's and some Slims can be downgraded to ofw 3.55 via hardmod. You could then install cfw. No super slim ps3's can be downgraded to 3.55 ofw.
