This has nothing to do with HENkaku. Someone could potentially use it to bypass the blocks Sony put in place with OFW 3.55, but you most likely need another ePSP kernel exploit (not a VITA kernel exploit) to be able to load PSP ISOs.

It was. But Sony patched the kernel exploits a few firmwares ago and there is no public kexploit for 3.60.
The point with the Henkaku source code is, that Henkaku has a vita kexploit, the pspemu is inside the vita. We also can write to any partition, but if we replace the pspemu with a version with a kexploit (somebody already tried it), the app asks for an update. If we had full access to henkaku however, we could patch that shit, thus reenabling pspiracy on the vita.

@nxtgamer: about the point of getting games you've purchased, there's 2 reasons. first off, deleting games to make space, meaning if you want to play it again, you'd have to either transfer from PS3 (if you have one), or update firmware, deleting henkaku in the process. the other reason, which i'm tempted to try, is to look into Metal Gear Solid for PS1, since i hear it has sound issues on vita, and sony won't allow us to download it natively

Or you can simply take 5 minutes and back the game to any crappy PC you may have laying around using QCMA...

No need to exclusively own a PS3/delete HENkaku just to do that...

If the Henkaku spoofing is still working, just download all your games, update them, grab ur saves and QCMA them over.. You'll hgave them forever. :>
Other than Ps+ games which have a limited time license.

One more thing.

I think former PSP hack which involved TN-V or ARK only used PSP power of the device. Because of that, in some PSP games there were frame drops and stuttering.

i hope that new PSP hack (which involved Henkaku) will finally use full power of the device (processor on the first place).

Uhhhh no, it doesn't work like that... We will be using the same PSP emulator that TN-V/Ark use and it will behave the exact same way regardless of it being enabled via HENkaku, in order to have a PSP emulator that runs on "full vita power" through HENkaku would have to be a totally new emulator built from the ground up, I don't think any dev wants to spend hundreds or thousands of hours to get something slightly better of what we already have (a full working PSP emu).

If I'm right we need a kernel hack for that henkaku has one but since we don't have access to the source code we don't have access to the kernel hack so we have to wait for some one to reverses engineer henkaku.

We don't need kernel acces to play psp games, all we need is the .rif (the license files) for the psp games and that is it. smh I keep telling people this but it seems its not getting through to them.

Edit: I don't understand why a single person has not created a database of .rif (psp and PS1 license fiiles).

Even if that worked (which it wouldn't) I'm pretty sure you would be limited to only psn psp titles which is useless...

Yes some psp games are limited to the psn and allot of them can be played without the psn and yes it does work. http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?p=410121#p410121

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Because these files are tied to their original accounts. You can't just get a .rif from other user and expect it to work on your account.

You do realise you can get .rif files if you run psp games through a hacked psp console right? And those .rif files don't have to be connected to the psn while they are on the psp.

Ok but its still not a solution to the problem. People want kernal access to psp so they can play ANY psp or ps1 game, not limited by ownership or psn's list of games. I have a ton of psp games backed up on my computer and only a third of them are on the psn...
(Also, that's way too many hoops to jump through when Henkaku is spoofed atm and you can just go download those games)

1.) get your hands on a hacked psp

2.) download any psp game on your hacked psp

3.) the psp will create a .rif file after it has download the game or run the game

4.) take the .rif file and the psp game and install them on a psvita usining henkaku or vitashell

5.) some psp games will need or might need the psn and other psp games don't

Oooooooor just wait for kernal access for psp lol (Or hell, just play them on the damn psp haha). The method is fairly useless if it requires another hacked system that requires said games. The point is that kernal access doesn't require ANY of that.

Just FYI, PSP games look either pixelated/jaggy or blurred on the Vita, depending on if you have enabled linear filtering or not. Wherase they look sharp as hell on the PSP Go.
So I'm torn on which platform I prefer playing PSP games. You may hate the look of PSP games on the Vita.

The only way I could ever see using a Go would be with a component cable and a DS3 to make it a consolized PSP. Which would only be worthwhile for PSP stuff, there are far better ways to play PSX games on a TV.
