I have been using dios mios, but decided to switch to nintendont for better game compatibility. So I have all the games in the right format on a fat32 usb drive. And everything seems to work except when I choose autoboot, boot a game and reset it has gone back to off.

So when I choose a game in wiiflow it just takes me to the "SD usb" options, then I can choose usb, then a game. It works. I can exit back to wiiflow. But next game I choose brings me back to that menu again.

I've had a few other problems with wiiflow not saving things like my default coverflow for example. It will save the coverflow itself but I just had to go into my sourcmenu.ini file and change the number to the right one.

So I suspect this might be causing the problem, but I don't know what file, or what line of code to manually turn auto boot on.

I tried my wiiflow.ini adding "autoboot=yes" and auto_boot=yes" under the [dml] header, neither worked, but I'm really just stabbing in the dark here.

So does anyone know where to put what to manually change this setting? Or why wiiflow isn't saving settings to the ini files sometimes (even though that might not be the problem here)

I've got everything else set up so perfect, and I like the way wiiflow looks. But I may try cfg, I've heard it works better with nintendont
But I hate to give up all the time I've put into wiiflow.

ok, im running 4.2.1, so that my problem i guess.

i tried replacing my whole wiiflow folder in apps, and all my plugin dols, then updating the names of said dols in the individual plugin ini files. the mastermod pack didnt have a wiiflow.ini file, so i left that out, assuming it would generate. tried launching wiiflow directly from homebrew channel since i didnt update my forwarder, just booted to black screen.

i assume i need to install some updated cios, its been so long since i did this. and i really didnt know anything when i did. (not that im an expert now) i know i have d2x 52 and beta 53 in 249 and 250. im guessing that the 52 and 53 are version numbers, so those havent changed in the last year or so (i really dont remember how long ago i did this). ive kinda gotten good at tweaking what ive got, but when i get into the cios and such we just go back to when i followed a guide word for word, and managed to actually get this working.

my main fear is that if i get into updating everything to this mastermod, cant figure it out, and then restore my sd card from a backup, that i will have done something to break what i have now that curently works.

the only reason im doing this is for a couple gamecube games that arent working with dios mios. and currently i can set the default to dios mios, but set those games to nintendont, and wiiflow 4.2.1 will launch nintendont, i just have to go and choose the game. but it even exits back to wiiflow normally. now on the one hand, im a perfectionist, but on the other hand, i have every game that im likely to ever want, and it all seems to work except a couple games. it might bother me a little, but breaking things, and taking a week or two to get it all back working will bother me more.

thanks for reading my long posts, and for the help btw

you didn't have to update your plugins.

all you needed to do was get the bins and imgs folders, boot.dol, icon.png, and meta.xml files and put them in your apps/wiiflow folder
leave your wiiflow.ini alone (in your case put it back in your apps/wiiflow folder.

well i broke something, i put my backed up files back on my sd card, and im getting an "exception alignment occured"

i clicked the wrong thing in priiloader when trying to make it boot straight to wiiflow again. it said it installed wiiflow, so im not sure what i did.

im going to install all the cios that came with the mastermod, im sure they could stand to be updated anyway, and kinda do the mastermod thing from start to finish. i still have my backups, so hoepfully if i get it working again i can just copy my coverflows and such back over

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

wait, it just has you installing 53 into several different slots, that cant be my problem

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

could there be something wrong in the cache folder? cant you delete some/all of that?

your d2x cios are not your problem.

so you restored your SD card with a backup you made and now wiiflow won't work and you get an error? makes no sense but have you tried booting wiiflow from HBC instead of priiloader?

ya i ran into priiloader causing problems earlier.

i think i had a file corrupted when i copied it or something, cuz after my last comment i realized that what i "installed" in priiloader was just the file that it tells to launch at startup, so that couldnt have been my problem, and i hadnt done anything to the wii so far. it was all on the SD card, and all to the apps and the wiiflow folders, so restoring them should have fixed it. so i tried restoring it again, it worked this time, so i tried what you said and replaced my wiiflow app. this time leaving my ini in there, and leaving my plugins alone, launched via homebrew channel and it worked.

i went back to priiloader and switched it back, forgetting that it still had the old wiiflow "installed" and that too gave me the "alignment" error, fixed that and all is well.

i think the first time i did it, i was getting that error from priiloader autobooting the old wiiflow, which wasnt there anymore, then after i restored my sd card there must have been a corrupt file (i had since turned priiloader boot option off) all the other tweaking was irrelevant because i think the wiiflow itself was corrupt. after i started putting the whole of mastermod on my sd card, realizing i shouldnt need to, saying screw it and putting my backup back on the sd card again, this time fixing the corrupt file. solved my problem. then the update went as smooth as it should have been the first time.

thanks for your input, if you hadnt told me that it should be that simple, i probably would have doubted myself into a complcated drawn out endevor. you are a gentleman and a scholar
