Hop into McDonald's to get Hoopa for a limited time!

Between November 27th and December 23rd, head over to select McDonald's with your 3DS to get the mystical Pokémon Hoopa. This is the first opportunity for Americans to obtain this rare monster.

All you have to do is head to McDonald's with a copy of Pokemon X/Y/OR/AS and connect your 3DS to the Nintendo Zone after logging into the free Wi-Fi.

It's nice that this promotion is available for all four of the main Pokémon games for 3DS, but when it's in OR/AS it can transform into Hoopa Unbound! There is no information yet as to if this is a US based event only. This is one of the longer Pokémon events in recent years but don't delay to get this sucker.

Not sure if joking or being serious.

Why would I be joking? Every so weeks its another promotion. Then you got to go to Gamestop, then to Mcdonalds etc. Im sure there are adults of like like 30's or something playing Pokemon still. You see them going to a store, 3ds in hands and do the promotion? I don't.

Well yeah it's super awkward for someone 20+ to whip out a 3DS in a McDonald's it's even more awkward if you see a kid doing the same thing and he asks if you want to trade pokemans.
Awkward? More like awesome. Any person who thinks it's weird is obviously not the kind of person you want in your life. Kids thinks it's cool, nerdy people think it's cool, everyone else can suck it. Also, you can do it parked.

You don't? That's weird. That's mainly the people I see doing it. Perhaps they just go in a group and do it together because they're awesome. The point of pokemon is to go out and socialize, to interact with other pokemon trainers. That is literally one of the main aspects of pokemon.

Normal 30 yo Adults don't play Pokemon, only Ninja's. That's why you can't see them.

I don't either. Twice I went to Gamestop for the Gengar and Diancie events, and nobody was there for that. I asked, they gave me a card, and looking at how much they had, it was a lot. I doubt anyone bothered. It could be a city thing, the bigger the city, the more Pokemon fans. It was funny when I walked my sister home one time, I had Ruby in my GBASP, playing that. A kid came up to me, asking if I had a phone he can use. I didn't have one, he asked if my SP was a phone.

I kinda laughed and said "no," and walked away.

For people who say its not awkward for adults to be doing this, please watch this

That just limits the amount of people he has to figure out are compatible with him. Who needs dead weight friends anyway, amirite? I feel I should mention that going to more anime conventions helps desensitize you to the weird.

As a side note, you can buy toys without having to buy a happy meal. How else are you going to get all the Pokemon toys?

Wow I have a feeling I could spend the next three years dissecting that and still have things left to cover.

I think I have something to replace

To be fair, that's My Little Pony, it's weirder to me that adult males would be out and about gushing and stuff over that, than Pokemon. It can't be a generational thing, I'm of similar age to these guys, but as a kid I really liked Sailor Moon and Totally Spies. I don't get the My Little Pony thing, almost every time my sister had me watch it with her, I fell asleep.

By my math that dude made about $60 from that video, so right on!

Honestly, I'm surprised adults are upset about the event being at McDonald's. As if it's any more "kiddish" to eat at McDonald's than it is to play Pokemon. If people really feel shame, then they can do it all in their car in the parking lot. The wifi probably extends that far.

So then, the "MAC" from "MC"Donald's is needed to use it with Homepass to get the event, right? Someone who, kindly, can share it with us? For us in México, we don't get that event, like almost every region on AMERICA, just US
And... in order to get it, I need to install Nintendo Zone hotspot list CFA from 10.0? Thanks for help!!

Im so fucking tired of these event pokemon being distributed at certain locations. As if an adult is seriously gonna go to the MC donalds (or any other location for that matter) with their 3ds to get a pokemon. I'd rather they just do those Serial codes

I'm tired of "adults" complaining about how they have to go out in public and *gasp* ....be seen playing a "kids'" video game by other people! Are you guys really that insecure? Just walk up in there like a boss and get it done. Only kids worry crap like this. I'm an adult, I can like whatever I want and no one can tell me what I should or shouldn't spend my time doing.

C.S. Lewis said:
“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

apparently what you need isn't the Mac, but the SSID and the encryption as well.
(The password)

The McDonalds Nintendo Zone might already be in existing firmware, but it'll be good to install existing ones

Heh, Hoopa's gotta be the only legendary I like, mostly for the design. I think she's cute!
Her alternate form also almost looks like something out of Jojo. I know it's genderless, but it looks female to me...

I generally hate legendaries, 'cause it's just too easy to beat the game with them, and online, unless you do all that EV stuff and whatnot, they're almost unbeatable.
I dun like that.:glare:

I'm 22 years old and I have no issues going to a store for a download or walking around with my 3DS and playing pokemon.
Sure some people look at me a bit funny cause I look like a bodybuilder do to lifting for around 6 years due to going to compete hopefully soon.
Pokemon is awesome, I actually do walk around places with my 3DS and play Pokemon. I really don't care, Pokemon rocks.

If you're insecure because of a game you play I don't think the issue is the game. You should probably put it down and focus on boosting your self esteem and make yourself feel better.
