Is there a list gathered in one place, of the Wii or Gamecube games with language detection inaccessible on their own region console? If not, these pages have info to start on.

This list excludes insignificant results such as the home menu and safety screens. Hacked files are outside its scope.

Is it possible to force any of these languages? I have a Japanese Wii, and I can't for the life of me get it to run Star Fox Adventures in English.

Homebrew can force languages. Not sure how perfect compatibility is.
Swiss for GC games. Or so I've heard, haven't tried the newer versions.
Gecko OS for Wii games.

Star Fox Adventures doesn't (yet) have an Action Replay code or similar to bypass the detection.
The PAL version is an option. It has 60hz mode and no Japanese text, but lacks official 480p. (you might be able to force it)

I'm afraid that's not right, or at least in my experience. I have backups of both the NTSC and PAL versions of Star Fox Adventures, and with my Japanese Wii it plays in Japanese no matter what I do. It even does this with the US EmuNAND I have installed believe it or not. I'm stumped.

Did you make sure it's a proper PAL copy (not region hacked from NTSC)?
The European version added an in-game language menu, this shouldn't apply to it.

Though I don't know much about technical details, under the hood changing the language of Gamecube games is different from Wii games.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
