what i want isn't an analog on my left index finger, what i want is just being able to using R button of Circle Pad Pro even on non-supporting games as CPP makes handling my 3ds xl much easier but it can only be used on a few games.

Yeah, but I think they're both bad. I like what the Vita did. With its two (real) sticks.

Even still the Vita then lacks L2 and R2 buttons, so you still have to get around this with the rear touch screen acting as these buttons. Which really is the same thing as the 3DS without a CPP and its touch screen that can handle the camera and extra buttons if necessary. At least the CPP (and this) adds the 2 extra buttons to make the 3DS a fully realized controller. The Vita should have put in 2 more triggers in some way or another. I find faults with both handheld designs in terms of number of buttons.

The rear-button-touching takes getting used to, but you'll get used to it very fast, and it's really not bad at all. I agree they should put actual buttons in, but they work very well for L-R1/2.

The 3DS is still lacking a fully realised controller because it's also missing LT + RT, as well as a second analogue stick.

This is an absolutely atrocious alternative to the CCP like who the fuck thought this'd be a good idea.. probably a robot.

I understand they are called slide pads, but they are simply a modification of the traditional thumb-stick. A normal thumb-stick wouldn't work on a clamshell like device so they have to make it work differently so that the "thumb-stick" doesn't take up too much vertical space. No matter what you call it, most people still use their thumbs to move the "slide pad". So what this thing is called is irrelevant.

To be specific slide pad is the japanese name for what nintendo localized as circle pad.

I'd want this. I have the original CPP and it is SO comfortable to hold the 3DS with it. The only thing I want is making the R-trigger on the CPP work with EVERY game. Feels like it should be possible to do via the 3DS built in software (and not force each game to implement it).
Step 2 would be to make the ZR and ZL buttons to mimic the R and L buttons for games that don't use the CPP (via the 3DS software).
Step 3 would be to make the second circle pad mimic the original pad (for those wanting to control with their right hand), agian for games that are not "compatible" with the dual stick thingymajing.

I was going to get Resident Evil Revelations, but never ended up doing it... so for me it's just an expensive grip... would love to get to use some of the functionality.

The Japanese seem to think differently about how the human hands work.

Didn't MH players use the "claw" for the PSP version to play the game? Talk about thinking differently about the human hand. :D

Can't blame Hori for making something only dedicated users will jump on. Seems like a perfect fit for MH4. Really don't understand why people are mocking this, it's clearly a specialized product for a specific segment of the market, one that is huge in Japan.

God, don't remind me. My hand just reflexively got cramps.

I'm honestly more interested in the ergonomic grip this gives the XL, more than the fact that it's a CPP. Assuming you never use the CPP aspects of it, it looks incredibly comfy to hold.
