Has anyone managed to get it running on an actual PSP?
I have tried many times trying to get it to work without it crashing, to no avail.
I made a brand new ISO with UMDGen, enabled the plugin, and it crashes on the loading screen.

Enabling force high memory layout crashes the game before the intro even starts...
Running this on a PSP 3000.

sorry, I dont have a PSP. My notes are based on the VITA only and I can promise it works great. Have it done from start to end and its full playable on Vita and PC emulation. still some crashes here and there, but this is Alpha build its fine for me. Truly the PSP Alpha copy works better than the PS2 Beta Build and is overall the best copy now out.

Your problem 'crashes on the loading screen', I have the same problem when not use force high memory layout. so some episodes works and some are freeze on lopading screen. force high memory layout FIx it for the VITA.
Example : Ghosts works mostly fine, because its a small Map, but Originis crash on loading screen, only force high memory layout Fix it on Vita.
maybe you have to many plugins installed ? the game need on some maps a lot mem.

would be great when you get Fix it and report it back.

*

Edit : I can confirm that PSVshell can not Fix the PSP Alpha build loading freeze problem on some episodes, it need force high memory layout its working mostly perfect. Also override/overclock dont Fix anything.

EDIT

Also found on archive_org, PSP BETA v1.02 Pre-Production Copy (but I am unsure when this is real or not, its says PSN ? it should be a Disc ?) :

Manhunt 2 (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) (v1.02) (PSP) (PSN).iso

When I open the ISO it says ->
UMD_DATA.BIN = 05.09.2007

https://umdatabase.net/view.php?id=6DE57B94
Disc ID : ULES-00756
Version : Written on Disc 1.02
Creation Date : 2007-09-05

The Manhut 2 PSP PROMO Europe also has the same number ULES-00756, but Promo is mostly same as the final version and is from 2008.

Final Version PSP USA = 31.10.2007 - ULUS-10280
Final Version PSP UK = 31.10.2008 - ULES-00756
PROMO Version PSP UK = xx.xx.2008 - ULES-00756
Pre-Production PSP 1.02 = 2007-09-05 - ULES-00756
Pre-Production PSP 1.00 = 2007-05-03 - ULES-00756
Test Sample PSP 1.01 = 2007-05-08 - ULUS-10280 / TEDL 018640
Test Sample PSP 1.03 = 2007-08-16 - ULUS-10280 / TEDL 018640

NFO from xDaniel_Gaming_7265 :
This is the real leaked Beta of Manhunt 1 played on the PCSX2 Emulator (PS2 Emulator)
First of all, to be able to play Manhunt 0.69 you need the pcsx2 emulator, secondly you have to go to the Internet Archive and download Manhunt 0.69 there, thirdly you need these patches to be able to play it:

Result on PS2 PAL System with FMCB = WORKING

here are my PS2 PAL MC2 files ->

Manhunt PS2 Alpha 0.69.B Speedrun on 'Hard Difficutly'

Speedrun Rules :
No Debug or any Cheat allowed, No Save-State allowed over PC Emulation. Only 12 Episodes has full working Exit Point and are good enough for Speedrun, but still instable. Easy Difficulty is extra category and PC Emulation compare to original PS2 console is also extra category.

My list on original PS2 PAL Slim + FMCB USB + 0.69.B ISO NTSC capture on DVD ->
* There is only one try, each second try will Freeze or Crash the game, I must restart every time my PS2 console for each try, its very difficulty. Plus instable build and many errors is a Pain to do this. I want to play it on original PS2 system to stay near at possible to work with the untouched build.

01 Jury Turf = 5:052 IGT (not fast enough)
02 Derelict = 5:019 IGT
03 Weasel = 7:025 IGT (not good, need many luck and many restart PS2 console)
04 Scrap = 3:054 IGT
05 Scrap 2 = 14:016 IGT (very bad, has many Freezes on real PS2, should 5 mintes faster)
07 Church 2 = 22:013 IGT (very bad, has many Freezes on real PS2, should 10 mintes faster)
08 Zoo = 4:017 IGT
13 Cellblock = 7:022 IGT (bad luck)
15 Ramirez = 2:042 IGT (maybe 15 seconds faster possible)
17 Subway = 2:01 IGT (maybe lost 10 seconds, otherwise good)
18 Trainyard = 1:035 IGT (mostly perfect)
21 Attic = 3:011 IGT

19 Estate Ext = PC Emulation Only. This Episode gives me on PS2 PAL for unknown reason 'Terminate Error Null'.
11 Pharm WKs = Theoretical possible, has a working Exit Point. But PS2 has to many Error and Freeze, Framerate very slow.
14 Prison = Theoretical possible, has a working Exit Point, but PS2 has many Error and Freeze.
All other Episodes are not possible for Speedrun, since the Exit Point is missing or has a Error dont work.

List Hard Difficulty Walkthrough Video PC Emulator by xDaniel_Gaming_7265 (youtube) ->
(no Speedrun, but confirm the same working Exit Points and show the other Episodes)

01 Jury Turf = 11:01 IGT
02 Derelict = 11:036 IGT
03 Weasel = 13:055 IGT
04 Scrap = 12:048 IGT
05 Scrap 2 = 13:035 IGT
07 Church 2 = 21:016 IGT
08 Zoo = 20:012 IGT
13 Cellblock = 8:06 IGT
15 Ramirez = 5:016 IGT
17 Subway = 7:039 IGT
18 Trainyard = 6:048 IGT
21 Attic = 5:058 IGT

19 Estate Ext / PC Emulation Only = 7:028 (Not working on original PS2 PAL)
11 Pharm WKs = 11:018 (used Debug-Mode NoClip)
14 Prison = 11:037 (used Save-State from Emulator)

There are some good action videos here from xDaniel_Gaming_7265, dont miss it and watch it on youtube !

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
