OK, so we are all here because at the core, we are GAMERS. Which consoles do you currently use? I'd like EVERYBODY HERE to chime in!

I only really use my Vita now.

Things i've had but don't anymore - original Atari VCS, original Casio calculator watch with number invaders, Casio PB-700 calculator with BASIC built in, Sinclair ZX-Spectrum 48k, Tandy Coco with the chicklet style keyboard, PSX, Nintendo DS. Time branded PC.

Things I still have - Gamecube, Dreamcast, Fat PS2, Fat PS3, Fat PS4 (brought from new and unused), Amiga 1200 (no games as it wasn't originally mine ), OpenPandora Pandora. GPD Win 3, C64 Mini, 3DS, OG Switch unmodded and rarely used, Fat X-POX 360. a few more PC's (custom built).

@DudderButter Never had a Leapfrog Leapster but if it's the GS, have you seen this ?

Wow, that really, really is OLD SCHOOL GAMING. The moment you said "ATARI VCS" I was riveted to your post. Those things were more like computers at the age and not gaming machines (not the VCS, but your other honorable mentions) . Don't get me wrong, of course they were gaming machines, but they kind of remind me of the TI-99/4A. That thing was nutz!!! And you mentioned the CASIO with BASIC built in, that is just mind-blowing!!! And Tandy, I recall the label but cannot bring up the device itself. And what about the ColecoVision Adam, remember that? Pretty much the same generation. Wow, how technology has changed. Thanks for sharing ILuvGames, and yes, I recognize you from the Vita forums... :)

@The_Dizzy_Vizzy I'm glad to have shared it and that you found it interesting. I appreciate it. Tandy were probably better known as RadioShack. Coco was the unofficial nickname for the Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer. I'd not heard of the Coleco Adam before, shame it was so expensive and poorly made. Things in the home computer world at the time was veering away from computers like that. The C64 and the ZX-Spectrum were really starting to grow in sales and games released in a huge way. There were quite a few 'bedroom coders' who did very well out of making games for the Speccy. My friend had a TI-99/4A. Nice computer. Shame it didn't do better commercially than it did as it deserved to. The VCS was fun. I used to do 'cartridge tilting' but didn't know it was eventually called that though. It made playing Space Invaders fun because it made the combinations of wobbly bullets, wobbly bases, invisible invaders more random than the game allowed. As you mentioned, times have changed a lot. I guess I got into gaming and computers because my uncles wife was a computer programming teacher. Although she never taught me, programming and working with computers runs in that side of my family.

Holy CRAP - TANDY! I remember that!!! And the TRS-80, man those were the DAYS!!! I don't believe I recall the ZX-Spectrum, but the C64 I remember easily. And the TI-99/4A man my neighbors had one and they used to let me come over on Saturdays and play with it. Some game about mines, and another with these little Cowboy lookin' dudes were on the screen. And what is "Cartridge Tiltling"?

- Great memories for sure!

@The_Dizzy_Vizzy The TRS-80 coco was cool but that keyboard was awful. They had a Space Invaders clone on that. I remember letting people pay for goes on it at a fete in the village where my school was one year. In return they were given a ticket for the raffle with the proceeds going to charity. The first game I played on it was the old text adventure game 'Colossal Cave' but I gave up at 'My lamp is going dim. What should I do?' because I couldn't find the vending machine with more batteries. The ZX-Spectrum was made and designed in the UK by Sir Clive Sinclair. At the time, it was very popular here as the competing C64 was maybe three times the price. They did sell some of Sinclair's home computers in the US under the Timex Sinclair brand but the Russians really liked them are there were numerous unofficial clones. As you mentioned, some great memories to be had and i'm glad you had some too with your friends TI-99/4A. I kind of remember the game with the cowboys you mentioned. Was there anything from that era you would have liked to have? Mine was a Sharp MSX or X68000.

Although they mention that the process is about as old as the NES, it clearly isn't. Unless I invented it .

Cartridge Tilting, man I'd be afraid of damaging the console or the game. Additionally, I believe that RetroArch for the Vita has a Comordor 64 emlutator on it, but I could be mistaken.

Anything from that era I'd like to have - yep! But I already own it. It's an Atari 5200 Supersystem, 4-port unit, I even have the official Trak-ball for it. I gotta open it up and grease the bearings in it as they are a little tight. I'll take a couple of pics of it and get back to you. :)

So here are some pics of my Atari 5200. Some pictures are from my previous residence, and others are from my current residence. I told ILuvGames that I'd be posting them so I hope you guys like them. This thing is in IMMACULATE condition, and there's a funny story as to how I acquired it on eBay...

Been using a Wii since 2008.
I do not plan to get any more consoles unless something interesting comes out.

I'm no longer interested in new games and the Wii provides me with all my gaming needs, which is 90s videogames.
90's videogames... Super Metroid - the BEST game from the 90's!!! (Well, that's completely arbitrary coming from a Metroid fan), but there are TONS of great games from the 90's. WipeOut XL, Donkey Kong Country, Sonic The Hedgehog, Fear Effect, Loaded, Earthworm Jim, Resident Evil, Panzer Dragoon, and the list goes on and on...

I currently own:
  • GBA
  • New 2DSXL
  • Wii U
  • Switch
  • Xbox 360
  • PS3
  • PS4
  • PS Vita
  • PSP
Out of all of these I only actively use my 2DS and Switch. Sometimes my Wii U, PS3, PS4. Maybe my PS Vita and Xbox 360 once in a blue moon.

Wildcat, considering what kind of forum we're in, this is going to be a stupid question. Have you hacked your Vita? The only reason I ask is because when I was losing interest in my "normal" Vita, I decided to hack it. Well, I bought another Vita to do that with, and I hacked it. The breath of life it gave this wonderful little gizmmo was absolutely STAGGERING, and I use it ALL THE TIME. Last night I put some PS1 games on it, pluse, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - amazing game!

So chime in homey!

The PlayStation 1 had a similar fate. Earlier models used a plastic laser mechanism that is prone to melting, as it is placed right next to the power supply. So, to remedy the disc skipping issue, one would have to turn the PS1 upside down to get them to read properly again.

I have! I haven't gone as far as to put PS1 games on it yet, but I've given it a custom theme and Adrenaline, which is the PSP emulator for the PS Vita.
